We are DVC so never have not booked non DVC in awhile. We are doing a split stay in June though and are doing a moderate and a value with our DVC stay.
I didn't plan on booking the Value and Moderate until maybe Jan or Feb, that is when it will financially work for me. I already booked AKL and plan on booking another DVC next month.
My question is will June be a tough month to get a reservation for AOA and POR Royal Room if I wait until Jan or Feb?

I will try to help you as much as I can, it takes a bit of guesswork! 
Looking at the historical information the general public room only discount for early June 2012 came out 11/30/11. So I would guess that by the time Jan or Feb rolled around it was slim pickings. If you can swing the one night deposit I would go ahead and book the room you want asap. Otherwise you might have to take what you can get. I'm guessing AoA might still be blacked out for discounts in 2013, those rooms have been going fast. June is a busy time with kids getting out of school for summer vacation and the Star Wars weekends. I think if you decide to wait you have to be OK with knowing you might not get your first choice of location. It's hard to know for sure what the future holds. Good luck with your planning!
