Booking non DVC Rooms

Only if the resale purchase was made prior to 3/21/2011.

If you mean whether you can use points to reserve any Disney hotels, the answer is no for any points purchased resale on or after March 21, 2011.

If you purchase any resale points today other than for Riviera, then you can use them only for your home resort and all DVC Resorts other than Riviera, and can trade them out for RCI resorts. If you purchase Riviera resale points you can use them only for Riviera and RCI.

Why were you hoping to hear you could? Have you seen the points charts for CSR on points? They are ugh.

Just rent out your points and use the proceeds to pay for a non-DVC Disney hotel. Then you don't have to pay the $95 fee to transfer your points to Reservation points.

I agree with this. Contact one of the Rental brokers. Rent out your points. Take the money and pay for your room. And keep the extra money that is left over. You might need it for taxes. Or you might not.
