Booking night by night?

I'm trying to get a GV at OKW in Oct. We own at BC so I have to wait till the end of March for the 7 month window. Is it a better idea to try and book night by night? I have never booked night by night. What are some of the benefits of it? How hard is it? Does it really work better?

In order for us to get the Beach Cottages at Vero Beach, even with our 11 month booking window, we still need to do it night by night. We're afraid that if we waited before the end of our travel dates, we'd miss getting them. So DW just calls MS every morning for 5 consecutive days and they just keep adding the days in order to get what we want.

I don't think you will have much luck with a GV at OKW for Oct. It is a busy time with the food and wine festival. You will surely need to book night by night and then it might not happen. I would make a reservation at BC to be on the safe side and then change it if you get what you want. Good luck. We own at OKW and always stay in a GV. They are the greatest!

I was wondering the same thing as in 2010 I want to take my parents and brother and kids for my parents 50th anniversary. I own at SSR but think I may need to stay at OKW. I will have 675 points which might not be enough at SSR for the 3 bedroom GV. But I have heard I need the 11 month window.

To actually book day by day you have call on your check out day (7 months prior).

When you call let them know your desired vacation length (real check out day). This is good for two reasons:
1) MS will hold the confirmation letter until you book the last day.

2) MS can check and tell if as of that day, if the accommodation you are interested in is available for your entire stay.

Okay, I'm a slow learner, so I call 7 months out from my check OUT date not check IN? I'm looking to check in Oct. 19 and check out Oct 24. I know I can't call until March 19 but if I do I can only book for the night of Oct 19. Than I have to call each day for the rest of the days for the trip? HELP! I know it might sound crazy but, I've never planned a trip so far in advance before so this is new to me. We are last minute kind of people. Plus we are doing a family trip with cousins so I would really like the GV I could always get 2 2bedroom units but I've never stayed at the GV and I know they would love it too.

I think the point the others were trying to make is you don't call March 19 for a check-in day of Oct 19. You need to call March 20, as the 20th would be the check-out day for the night of Oct 19th.

You begin your day by day calling on March 20.

That's right, book your 1st night 11 or 7 months to the morning you would check out, then book every day, day for day from there.

Do you have other accommodations in place for your travel dates? I'm putting together another girls trip for my wife, sisters, neices, etc. for sometime in October. They'll need a grand villa at OKW as well. Some of the dates I checked are the same as the dates you need and of those only the night of the 21st was available.

I don't have anything else planned but we are flexible. If we can't get the GV we might get a 2 bedroom or try for a GV somewhere else.

I think that you should book your home resort first for October and then look for the GV at the 7-month point.
