Can anybody please tell me if there are any benefits to booking a second cruise while on a cruise? Are the prices better while you are on the boat or on the internet?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Generally prices are cheaper to book as far out as possible, but not always. I always check before I leave, so I have a comparison.

Here are the deals: if you are going on a Disney cruise and think there is ANY chance you may want to go on another Disney cruise in the future, be sure to book your future cruise while you are still onboard the ship. You will receive a 10% discount and an onboard credit for the future cruise! The onboard credit is usually $200 for a 7-night cruise; $100 for a 3-night or 4-night cruise.

Some additional details:

*

There is a future bookings desk on the ship. Check your daily Navigator for times and location.
*

A deposit is required at the time of booking. The exact amount is based on the room category booked, number of persons in the room and the length of the sailing. Generally it is $200 per person for 3-night or 4-night cruises and $250 per person for 7-night cruises in Categories 4-12. For Categories 4-12, the deposit is fully refundable until full payment is due. The deposit is usually $500 per person for a suite (Categories 1-3). If you reserve a suite, your deposit is nonrefundable, but it can be moved to a different date without penalty.
*

You can later change the dates of the future cruise and still keep the onboard booking discount and onboard credit. There is no penalty for making changes to the reservation. For this reason, some people book random future dates, just to hold the discount.

You can transfer your onboard reservation to a travel agency and keep the onboard booking discount and onboard credit, Also, onboard booking incentives CANNOT be combined with any group discounts organized by a travel agency.

You can book as many staterooms for future cruises as you have people in your party. For instance, if you have a family of 5 on the cruise, you can book up to 5 staterooms for future cruises! This is great if you'd like to organize a family reunion cruise, or get a great deal for family and friends.

We booked while on the Magic 2xs. We got 10% off of price and $200 obc per cabin.

It's a $100 obc per cabin for 3 or 4 night cruises and is only valid on Cats 4-11.

You can transfer to a TA for more obc if you want.

We booked the Eastbound Panama Canal repo cruise while onboard our last Magic cruise in January 2007. This was the day they announced the repo cruises and before the public sale started. We locked in a cat 10 for two adults and one child for about $5200 including transfers and insurance. As mentioned above, this included a $200 onboard credit and early booking discount.

When we arrived back home, we transferred the res to a travel agent who will rebate us an additional $200 when we return. That same room is now going for over $8100 if booked today.
