Booking MYW package when we already have NE tix - Will it get messed up?

Hi all - I have a MDE account that is linked with our non-expiring tickets. We have a few days left on those NE tix.

We are planning to go in the fall for 9 days and will be purchasing a MYW package (room and tickets). My question is, how do I ensure that the MYW tickets are used and that days are not deducted from our NE tix? Is the system smart enough to know to use the MYW tickets? Is it safer if I just open a new MDE account?

Thanks for any input!

You would want to stop at a Guest Relations location prior to entering a park and have them prioritize the tickets in the order you wish them to be used.

Multiple MDE accounts are not really a good idea.

Because the OP does want to use the MYW tickets instead of the NE tickets that cannot be moved, adding dummy names and reserving the room with those "dummy" people in the room will protect the NE tickets.

The MagicBands will be linked to the "dummies" so the OP will end up with two different sets of MBs. One set of new MBs providing the link to the MYW tickets, FPs, and resort room.

The NE tickets linked to the real people can be used to book FPs and the linked MBs can be used at the FP lines but never at park entrance.

Ok, I think I understand. I create some dummies in my MDE account and the MYW reservation will belong to these dummies. This will isolate my NE tickets under the 'real' people. Right? We will spend this vacation being the 'dummies' and leave the NE bands at home?

I don't understand the quote above though. If I want to use only the MYW bands during this trip, wouldn't using the NE bands cause confusion?

Sorry for the questions. I usually do room only reservation and use our NE tix. This is the first trip where I am planning to use MYW. Thanks!

Yes. Your NE remain protected without going to Guest Relations.

As long as you leave them in a bag or pocket at park entrances, you can use the FPs linked to them at FP lines.

To protect the ticket entitlements if there may be confusion, it's best to leave the MBs at home. Others find it's a means of having an extra set of pre-booked FPs.

Ok, got it. Thanks! If I use the NE MB's for FP's, wouldn't the system somehow know that these bands weren't scanned at the entrance tapstiles?

No. At the FP tapstile, the in park FP system only checks FP data. Your NE ticket entitlements remain intact as long as you never use the MBs at park entrances.

You can always use a Sharpie to write NE on the MBs.

1. Can go to guest services at the parks to get tickets prioritized.
I've done this, but always have that nagging feeling that it might not work so I end up checking at guest services every day just to be sure!

2. Create dummy names as your "friends and family" on your MDE account, no need for a completely separate profile. Then when the MYW tickets are activated on your check in day re-assign those unused tickets to the dummy names. As long as tickets remain unused they can be re-assigned to anyone (yourself for instance) on your account at a later time. I've also done this and it works just fine.

3. All MBs linked to your account will work for any tickets in that account. We sometimes have multiple bands. Just give the MB a different nickname, for example John2 instead of John when you order them so you won't get them mixed up, or order a different color, or both. If the MYW package is already in your account any MB, even your old ones, will have access to the tickets in your account that are assigned to you.

 I'm paranoid like that too. And guess what? My two day tickets got used instead of my AP last month even after prioritization. :sad2: What a pain in the butt it was to fix.

OP, I would just go to Guest Services and have them remove your non expiring tickets from your MDE account. You can always relink them when you're ready to use them.

This scares me because I need to use a 1 day MK tix first and then just one day off my NE PH this trip. I'm so nervous that even after prioritization at guest services that it will use up my PH!

That's why it's better to manipulate your own tickets within your MDE.

Guest Relations CMs are nice but they used to be entertainment or attraction CMs. I'd much rather trust myself with anything to do with my MDE account especially if I had NE tickets.

Doublecheck at Guest Relations inside the park at some point before you leave for the day if you are worried. They should be able to tell you which ticket was used to enter.

I've had so many glitches with tickets, linked family members, disappearing fp's, etc... on MDE, It's hard to know the best route to take.
I agree. It all goes back to MDE being such a faulty system.

It's just that many Guest Relations CMs are only in that position temporarily and only the ones who are capable get extended or receive a more permanent position. That's what bothers me more because CMs don't use their own MDE accounts very much yet they manipulate Guests' tickets within a very faulty system.

And I do agree too, it is scary when you are dealing with the CM's at Guest Relations. What might be a five minute fix for one CM, could end up being an hour and a half fiasco depending on who serves you. Even when you ask to speak to a manager or someone different.

I think this is going to be the route I take. Better to fix it when I'm there but hopefully I won't have to. I'm not super comfortable making dummy accounts.

When I have multiple tickets in my account, before I enter a park the first day of a trip, I ask one of the CMs with an iPad to scan my band and ensure that the ticket I want to use is prioritized. I have always been able to find one of them just inside the touchpoints, and I ask them to come over and do that before I enter. It hasn't been a problem the four times I have needed to do it.

Good idea. I think I will call a CM with an IPad over right after I enter the park to check which ticket was used since my prioritized AP automatically defaulted to use my two day tickets. That will save me a trip to Guest Relations.

I do it BEFORE I enter the park, not after. MUCH easier to prevent the problem rather than have to solve it!
