What kind of table can we expect to get if I book HDDR today for our July 4 trip? It would be about 3 months in advance. Is it even worth trying?? My DD14 said this was her only "would like to do" on this trip. Who would have thought??

Last time we did HDDR, I booked a year in advance and got a great seat one row back from the stage.

SUbscribing-

Last time I booked it 2 months prior (Oct trip) and had a great seat.
Right now I am about 6 months prior-

Is earlier better when it comes to HDDR?

I have heard that they assign the tables as you make reservations, and you can make reservations 2 years in advance. (Although this is changing soon.)

I'm sure a lot depends on what seating you are looking for. I'm sure the 5 o'clock show fills up fast. Are you looking forward to the 4th of July fireworks because the 7:15 o'clock and 9:30 o'clock show might interfere with watching them. Fantasy in the Sky fireworks begin at 9pm. On the 3rd and 4th of July its called that the other nights the firework show is called Wishes. So I guess for the 3rd and 4th they will be more special. I'd call Disney Dining and get an idea of how busy it is.

Good Luck!

We booked three months in advance for the 7 p.m. show. We didn't have very good seats. We were at the back of the first floor. It was hard to see.

That's what I was afraid of. I don't know if I want to spend over $200 for bad seats (my 2 kids are "adults" - 14 and 11). I would have booked earlier, but I didn't know DD wanted to do this again.

You should call and ask. They are no longer booking at 2 years out. You have to wait until 180 for HDDR tickets now. I'm not sure when it changed, but I had two CMs tell me that it did and people on here confirmed it.

According to Allears, the 180 day ADRs do not start until reservations made for dates AFTER 1/1/2007:

"As of January 2006, all dates for the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue can be confirmed through 12/31/06. Reservations for 1/1/07 and beyond can only be confirmed 180 days prior to your requested date. These shows will no longer be booked a year or more in advance. Tables are assigned in the order in which reservations are made. There is two-tiered seating: the main floor and upstairs in the balcony. Shows can sell out during busy times of the year. Tickets and table assignments are available 5 days in advance at your Disney resort Lobby Concierge location."
