Booking Grand Californian at 7 months-how difficult?

We are planning a trip next June and will be celebrating my son graduating from HS! I was able to finish my reservation at VGC for 9 nights in a 2-bdrm. I had to call to add the last night because of website glitches. The person at member services congratulated me on getting the reservation because they are so hard to get.

I had a one bedroom for 5 nights this last September. I started with one night in a 2 bedroom and one night in a one bedroom and a few waitlists. It took a few months of slowly collecting days and being willing to stay in a one or two bedroom, but I ended up getting what I wanted. There are so many hotels that are walking distance to Disneyland that I always had a backup plan.

My waitlist came through! I have both nights that I needed in a 1-bedroom at VGC! So excited!

My sister @Disney_Alli has had awesome luck with her waitlists at VGC, she has gotten something for almost every night she's ever tried.
