Hi all - sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I couldn't think of where it might fit better!

Does anyone have experience with booking golf 24hrs or less in advance? We're going for a week in September, and we have one "free" day that I've left with no scheduled activities. Depending on the weather, we'd like to golf or hit the outlet malls. Do you think we could get a tee time, likely for 9 holes, the day prior?

Thanks so much to anyone with feedback!

I think if you're not picky on the time of day you play you should be able to find something. You can book 9 holes up to 90 days in advance (at least based on what I can see).

Honestly I'd just poke around at the availability when you get closer and book something that works for you as long as the cancellation terms work for you.

We play every trip but schedule it ahead. Even then, the courses are rarely busy. Here is the link to the golf sight. The screenshot shows availability today on all three courses. The Palm and Magnolia are their more highly acclaimed resort courses and probably the two toughest, but my son and I Love the Lake Buena Vista course because it winds in and out of Old Key west (where we usually stay), Saratoga Springs, the tree houses and also across the river from Port Orleans. Beautiful scenic course. Hope this helps. Oh, when you look at the web sight, just hit the green button at the top right and scroll down to pick whether you are an annual pass holder, resort guest, or just in the area. There are some neat videos as far as course layouts and holes on that sight under golf courses as well. Also, we always get the 3 p.m. rate in the summer as it is half price and we still get done then take the boat across to Disney Springs for supper. We also show up at around two, get our cart loaded and usually they let us tee off when ready despite only paying the post 3 p.m. fee.

Good call on the cancellation window - thanks for that!

My step dad basically got a walk up at the Palm one summer, he got paired with a 3 some that was going out. But it was also August.

DH called one morning shortly after 8:00, and got a tee time for an hour later (probably could have gotten sooner but he wanted time to dress, get there, and warm up). The predicted rain had turned into sun, so what better way for a golfer to spend a sunny day?

Looking to book golf for my husband. Magnolia would be closed when we go (working on the greens). we are looking to book the palms or Lake Buena Vista . Suggestion on which one? I did hear Lake buena Vista was very SLOW moving. We are resorts guests but booking golf the day before we check in. Will they honor the resort rate?>

Palm has lots of water. My DMIL doesn't like golfing around lots of water, so she was a little intimidated. LBV used to be DH's "go-to" course, but now that SSR is built, it seems a little noisier. Some people don't like the fairways being surrounded by houses (the OKW resort) so the fairways feel "tight" to them. We live in a golf course community, where the golf course is surrounded by houses, so DH has no problem.
And as far as your second question, they SHOULD honor the resort rate.
