Hello
We are owners at SSR but have never stayed there. We really like the Epcot Resorts and have stayed there 3 times twice in a 1 bedroom at BWV and once in a 2 bedroom at the BCV. All three times was during the third week in October.
This is our strategy and it has come though every time. We are 3 for 3
1. Make your reservations at your home resort as soon as you our able, backups are good.
2. At exactly 7 months out to the day and at exactly 9:00 am Eastern Time make the call to member services.
3. Be prepared for a worse case scenario a (split stay).
Plan (A) There is no Plan (B)
Find the resort that has the least days missing in your itinerary; lets say for example the BWV has the 17th and 18th missing.
Check to see if the BCV has those two days available. If so make your reservation for the two resorts and ask to be wait-listed for the missing days at BWV.
If the missing days are not available over at BCV look for another resort that interests you and fill in the missing days there.
Ideally you want the missing days to be at the beginning or end of your stay so that in the worse case you would only have to change resorts once.
Two days missing is good.
You can work backwards and try for the BCVs and fill in the missing days over at the BWVs.
On all three occasions we had missing days in our itinerary up to three and in the middle of our stay.
On all three occasions we wait-listed and our wait list came through with in ten days of making our reservation.
We like both resorts equally the BWVs and the BCVs but I must say staying at the BCV during the food and wine festival was so convenient especially at the end of the day when your drop dead tired. Its such a short walk to Epcot.
Good Luck to you
