Booking for a large group

So i am in charge of the ADR for my family trip end of October into November. We are a party of 11 and found i'm having trouble booking restaurants. Yesterday was the first day i could book and were staying off property so have to do it every morning. I was told by Disney Dining operator that you can't book parties of over 10 on MDE and need to call the Disney Dining number. Problem with that is the ADR window opens at 6am on MDE and Disney Dining office opens at 7am. Now so far i have booked a reservation for 8 in my account and another reservation for 3 in my sister account. Will they let us combine those reservations. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It depends on the restaurant, but I’ve been able to book ADRs for 11 people online.

They won’t be able to combine the reservation over the phone. You’ll have to cancel and rebook. Or you can stop by the restaurant the day of and let them know the reservations are together and see if they can seat you all together.

I've booked dining on multiple trips for parties of 11-14 online. It depends on the restaurant- some I've been able to book as 1 big party and others I've had to use 2 or 3 MDE accounts to book smaller parties. With the smaller parties, we always get to the restaurant 15-20 minutes early to let them know we are all together and we've never had an issue being seated together or right next to each other.

This isn’t really addressing your question but it’s just something to think about if you are booking a character meal for your group. We were a group of 13 and booked at Chef Mickeys, we were put on 2 tables next to each other. When the characters came around we had a lot of problems getting photos and not everyone had photos taken with each character as the characters would not stay long enough to allow this to happen. We asked to see a manager and were told by this person that the characters only have a set time per table regardless of how many people were at the table. So if a person dines alone they are allowed as much time with each character as our table of 7 paying guests.

I feel like MDE is having an issue. I booked for 12 online months ago. Now today it won’t let me modify for 12. It’s really annoying. I also booked for 11 4 years ago all online.

I do have some split ADR’s (6 & 6) this trip within 10 minutes of each other. I’m hoping they work with us even if it means waiting a bit extra.
