Hello Everyone,

I'm back - I decided to lurk for the past couple of months!!! Not sure why; a few problems at work I guess, but anyhew, I'm back !!!

We're hoping to go back to the World in August 2012. Now, this is a year earlier than our plans (we last got back in August 2010 and we are so missing the planning etc. that we are quite depressed!!!). So, a new Disney holiday is needed.

I've been looking around and prices are so expensive. We probably wont book until January time (time to see if our savings plan works), but also that Virgin normally have a 10% sale around then don't they?

Anyway, i'm all ears if anyone has found any good deals... especially on flights. If it's cheaper, we might do DIY this year! Anyway.. we've not decided where, but it will be onsite (i'm thinking CR just becuase of the Monorail, which I just love!!!), but we're really open to suggestions. We might even contemplate flying indirect!

Looking forward to getting to you know all!!!

Buzzforboys - how's your son doing? I think about you often!

There were some early booking deals on the disney website not sure if they cover dates in august though we are october people. We have also been booking DIY for past two trips and have found for us it works out better. Most of the deals we get here in scotland only offer direct flights to Sanford and as we like to stay on site we would rather fly into MCO so we can get the ME (never hire a car either)

We did look at booking though virgin one year but the prices were just too much for us to consider.

Have a look on netflights etc and see what is available flight wise for you dates. Have also seen a few people on here have booked through kendwood travel and complete orlando. Thomas cook did have some ok deals but like I said they only fly into Sanford.

Hi, and welcome back to DIS.
We too have had an Annus Horribleus (as the Queen said), work, family etc. We realised that the only positive topic of conversation that was keeping us going was our next Disney holiday, so we dicided to bite the bullet and book. It really did give us the lift we all needed.
Because money was such an issue we booked through VH, it just means that we have until the end of February to pull out, just losing the deposit if the worst comes to the worst(worth it in balance).Looking at May flight prices, doing DIY would have only saved us £300 in total. VA flying club members get 10% off their holiday booking. Also Free dining available throughout August 2012.
I know there are always really good indirect prices around, sometimes several hundred less that VA. Best thing to do is decide on how much you are prepared to pay, then when you see that price, book it.
Knowing that you can plan you next trip is a real tonic.Good luck x

Great to have you posting again, just be careful with Virgin holiday sales, last time we used them I booked before the sale around Xmas, a few days later New year they had a 15% sale, I was a little annoyed until I checked the prices, they had increased so we got a better deal before the sale started.

I have been pricing up for July/August next year, 3 weeks at OKW Virgin Holidays are quoting £9103.72 :scared1:
I am looking to pay around £5k, 3 x 21 day tickets & 3x flights & 3 x free DDP. Will fly indirect if I have to but I am not paying over £9k.

I too am in the same situation....

This will be our 8th visit to disney.. we always stay off site on I -drive at Quality Inn international late aug early sept..

We have always flow through a tour operator e.g thomson holidays, virgin with their 10% off etc..

In 2010 we paid £4100 for 2 adults, 1 teen & 1 child for 2 weeks the end of Aug with 7 seater platuim car insurance. also included was with 7 day disney, fexi plus ticket and dolphin swim for us all.. The 10% off included tickets too... !! (big savings)

This year we are looking at complete orlando.. Virgin want the same without tickets, complete orlando do Seem to be the cheapest so far.. However got to wait till sept for aug 2012 flights...

I'm really unsure about doing things seperate...!!!

complete orlando

Flights ...?
hotel £495
car £ 450

Disney’s & Universal Combo ticket 2012: £325 per ad & £289 per ch

Discovery Cove Ultimate Adventure 4 swim, includes Busch Gardens, Aquatica and SeaWorld 2012: £185 per person

Looking good...:thumbsup2

I`d have to agree with wayne on this one, we booked in aprill of 2010 for our august 2011 hol, in the january sale with virgin I gave it a like for like booking, couldn`t beleive it had gone up £4000, some sale that, so beware of the
sale, maybe you would be better booking and cancelling if you cannot make the budget, only an idea.

We are looking at cmplete orlando for next year as well, once the booking has flights your covered by atol with them if anything happens
