Hiya all

Well I have started looking for our October 2007 trip to wdw, the reason apart from me being a disney nut? we miss mnsshp by one day this year and i really wanted to go!! i am a total halloween nut

ok so I have the following prices what do you think?

VIRGIN, all star movies, car hire, platinum insurance, 2 weeks going 1st october 07 all in at £2032 for both of us

TRAVEL CITY DIRECT, pop century preffered room, car hire, platinum insurance, holiday insurance, going out 1st october 07 £1700

so what do you think? is virgin worth the extra, I mean its been a lllooonnggg time since I have flown virgin, I have been tcd the last 4 years.

any help appreciated

anna

If youve been with TCD the last four times then you must find them ok.I think i would pay the £1700 and have the extra spending money.
That is a fantastic price,i guess im use to paying for four of us.
:)

I guess you are in as good a position as anyone to make the judgement Anna having been with TCD so monay times previously. :)

The only differences I can see is that with one you are staying at Pop and the other All-Star Movies, not a massive difference but if you preferred one over the other that might help to sway it.

Also with Virgin you will fly into MCO whereas I think TCD fly into Sanford, you are also less likely to be mucked around with the plane and have a slightly more comfortable flight with seatback TV's etc.

Personally I like the service we get with Virgin and £300 probably wouldn't be enough to sway me in the direction of TCD but as I have said I think you are in a better position to make the comparison than I am :teeth:

yeah alan

the only thing with tcd is that we would also have to add on the cost of pre booking sitting together, pre book extra luggage and pre book free time check in which does add up,

with virgin i get al that as standard, though I dont know how there luggage works, is it 40kg each? and is that with a set ammount of bags? a bonus of virgin is that i dont loose my frequent flyer points, nd i earn some more

how many paint to upgarde one way?

sorry about all the questions but I am wanting to book today

the only other difference being tcd deposit is £11 each and virgin £120

I am going to call thomas cook signature when it opens to get a price, as well

try bonvoyage in Southampton bon-voyage.co.uk, i have used them every year and they are pretty competetive.i booked 3 weeks ago for 18/10/06,flights with United 5 days in Las Vegas then onto Orlando for 7 nights in Port Orleans.
worked out at £1550 for 2 adults.also with a scheduled ticket there is none of this extra money to sit together or for extra leg room.
we have picked our seats (good ones too,seatguru.com).
it might be a bit early to book yet but they can give you a very good idea of cost and they really do know their stuff cos they have all been there.
hope this helps

Virgin luggage allowance is 2 x 32kg bags each, plus hand luggage.
So, a total of 64kg each :thumbsup2

thanx alison

thats good luggage

'Specially if you like shopping

We flew with Thomas Cook a few years ago and ended up struggling at the airport, on the way home, as we'd gone way over the luggage allowance - and I absolutely HATE shopping ;)

Personally I would fly Virgin, all the extras make it worthwhile like DTD checkin and being able to prebook seats for free. Plus Im sure you would full use of the big luggage allowance!! ;)

Good luck with the comparison Anna, hope you work it out for the best :thumbsup2
