Booking for 11 in January: luau, character meals

Taking 2 families to the World in January to celebrate my daughter's marriage the week before. And granddaughter's 4th bday. Daughter's new inlaws want to treat everyone to the luau one evening. Is that a difficult reservation to get?

What is the best way to book for a group of that size? Is it even possible to do online, or should we call? I am thinking especially of some of the character meals like Akershus, 1900 Park Fare, etc. I've never had to book for more than 6 at a time.

We are also a party of 11 and all but one meal online, that was Tutto Italia had to call the restaurant directly Disney was not able to book this one for that large of a party. We have Akershus Royal, Ohana, Chef Mickeys, Sci-Fi, BOG, Backyard BBQ all booked online without an issue.

SOA has long tables for the dinner. 11 is not difficult to accommodate. Call when your window opens. There should availability in all three categories.
