Booking for 08

Just wanted to clarify a few things, We are looking to book our trip for March 08, but I have heard that we wont be able to because 08 prices have not been released.
We will probably book through CAA, I have heard you can get a pretty good deal, but I am not sure how to go about things.
I can reserve our room now (at 07 rates? or will it automatically increase when new rates released?) but I cant get our MYW tickets or Disney Dining PLan till 08 prices are released?
Can CAA still book me a package if they get me only the room first, I want to make sure we have a room in our choice hotel, as it will be peak season.
Also if I book through CAA as a package, Do they make our reservations for TS dinners or can I make these myself 180 days prior? i think I might prefer to make them myself that way if certain times are not available, I can decide on an earlier or later time or consider switching to a diff restaurant.

I called my CAA agent and although you can book the hotel only and add the extras after. You will be quoted rates but they are not guaranteed. the only problem is that if you wait til they are available you can play around with hotels or rates in your favor (just MHO) But if you have a specific hotel in mind that you want to be at, they can do it.
As for TS,m my first trip the CAA agent booked everything for me9especially if you have to pay long distance charges, it reallyt helps)
However, the next CAA agent i got, told me to do them myself!

It is probably better if you do them anywasy.

You can book a room only right now to simply hold your spot. Package rates (tickets, dining plan) should be available around June or July for booking.

Yep, what happens is that you reserve at XX rate which will go up - prices go up every year and your reservation would reflect that. You can't get 2007 prices in 2008.

They will have to cancel your room only ressie and you will get an eventual refund. You will have to book a package - new reservation.

Truly depends on your agent - some go the extra mile and will assist you with itinerary planning and are very knowledgeable. Some just want your commission and for you to get out of their face. CAA can be very spotty with service in my experience.

Keep in mind having a room only reservation doesn't guarantee you the package will be available at the same hotel. They are two seperate inventories. The chances are pretty good that if you are booking when they are released you will have no issue with availability.

Some agents will book dining some won't....personally I think it is a service they should be offering so I would say it us up to you. If you want to do it than I would go for it.....if you would rather them do it just give them the list and have them do it.

ETA...I don't believe the room only rates are out right now for 2008 either.

There is a toll-free number that you can use to make your ADRs for table service and character meals. Call the WDW Travel Company (1-800-828-0228) and select the option for Dining when prompted.

Personally, I like making my own ADRs since it gives me better control over my itinerary, and often the CM will provide great suggestions that I would have otherwise missed about my trip or my dining location.
