Hi
We are hoping to go to Orlando late October 2016.
I am planning on looking at flights at the 11 month mark.
What is your experience of this? Do you go online at 9am or call the companies ( hoping to fly Virgin or BA)
Do you find the flight prices are lowest when they are first released? We are 2A and 2 Children( 8 and 3) I am hoping to get them for around £2600???

Any tips would be great

Many thanks
Ruth

Virgin release at 8am 11 months out.

BA release their flights much earlier- a good couple of weeks before but I can't remember the exact timing.

I usually search on skyscanner or kayak. Check in the run up to your date for an idea of prices.

My indirect budget for October half term is £500 each from manchester but do usually fly out on a weekday.

In recent years I have not found release day flights to be notably if at all cheaper. I always used to book this way but stopped several years ago. I now go with checking every day until I find a price I am willing to pay then book and don't look again. Clear your cookies though :)

So much thus piece of advice!! We got a price that we were OK with, booked and stopped looking. Couldn't cope with seeing them come down again!

Totally agree with this. I used to always book on release but last few years it's changed. I guess airlines know people are waiting so they charge a premium. Saying that you need to check, you might be happy with the price.

Same here. We booked on 5th July this year for 2nd May next year so a couple of weeks after flights became available. I had been tracking them and pounced as soon as boyfriend said we could go again :P

Thank you all for your help. Can't wait to get them booked and then not look at prices again!!

Virgin prices will come down as they load the higher fares on the day of release. Wait a few days and check prices again.

Will this make a difference regarding pricing?

Yes! I have checked obsessively on three PC's over the last two years. I find the biggest difference on Alamo car hire though. If you don't clear your cookies for them they have you linked to top whack prices forever. Trust me, I'm an obsessive planner ;)
