booking flight and hotel seperate??

has anyone had a problem when they book the flight with the actual carrier and book the room with walt disney seperately apossed to doing it all in a package? It will be 600 $ cheaper if I book them seperate but my agent says if anything goes wrong who knows what the penalties are to fix it IE... your flight is delayed ect. Has anyone done it this way with problems ??

This is the only we have booked. We have not had any problems. Only saved lots of money.

good to hear this and no one has had any problems doing it this way ? My agent will do it all for us we dont have to call the airline or the hotel she will, I am just worried what if we get there and the hotel is messed up or the flight is delayed ect ? I have always done package deals never flight then hotel it worries me abit that she stated this

Please keep in mind when you book it all separately and not in a package if the airline has a schedule change that my cause you to have to change your land arrangement and there are penalties to make changes. What those penalties are?,We don't know until we do the change.

Your agent just wants to make money LOL!

I always book seperatly. Booking it together really gives you no more protections. I am not sure what your agent is up to, but I have a feeling she/he gets a better commission on the package. There are very few schedule changes that would require you to change the hotel reservation, it's normally hours not days! Plus if your agent books it RIGHT you have a five day cancellation on your Disney hotel. On air making a change is very hard regardless of HOW it was booked.

Personally I would price it ALL without the agent and see if you can save anything more.
