Booking first time any sugestions

Ok I am getting ready to book our first trip with DVC. Any sugestions on who what when where?? Our home is SSR. We are wanting to go first week of Dec is this a busy time for DVC?

Any other thoughts or things to think of?

It is a busy time for DVC members because the point costs are so low and the whole WDW area has many wonderful holiday events.

Once we did find out how wonderful it is in WDW during December (2002) we've been back in December every year since.

Well right now you can only book at SSR since you are not at the 7 month window yet. So go ahead and book home. I booked a month ago for our December trip.

The first two weeks are VERY popular with DVC members because of the low points and holidays as the previous poster mentioned.

I agree that you should book your home resort right now, and then try to change to a different resort at the 7 month window if there is anything available for a different resort of your choice. There will likely not be much available at VWL or BCV, but if you can't get either of those, you will still have your lovely SSR home to stay at.

We LOVE early December, and usually alternate doing early December with doing early January every year. Last year it was early December, and this year it was early January, and will also be early December! Just love those early December decorations, holiday shows and lower crowds!
