Booking email well after booking?

So I don’t know if this is normal or not, I’ve certainly never gotten a booking email waaaaaay after I booked a DCL cruise. So we booked a cruise beginning of June months ago after we cancelled our 2020 merry time cruise, and I got an email then, but have been waiting for it to just get cancelled. Then just now I check my email and there is en email confirming my cruise with all our due amounts, dates to remember, all the normal stuff. I don’t recall getting this before so I am, probably needlessly, extremely confused. Is this normal? Is it a sign they actually think they’ll sail? Do I just need more coffee and possibly a more normal sleep schedule? (That’s a strong possibility)

Have you checked the amounts between the emails ? The minute something changes in the total cost - port fees, added cost, etc. - or the amount paid, they send a new confirmation email. They might have lowered the port fees or the taxes for your cruise. It usually doesn’t mean anything more than that.

They’re exactly the same, except the due date which makes sense. I now have an extra month to pay (hopefully they cancel it will before that if they’re going to). Wish they’d just send an email going “hey, you now have an extra month to pay”

I was thinking maybe the taxes had changed. This happened to me once before COVID and it confused me for ages as they had changed by only a few $s so nothing was overly noticeable but sounds like they've updated to give you the extra time to pay :D

We got one for our July cruise out of Rome last week, telling us the new pay in full date too.

Yes, they are sending emails to let people know of the different pay in full date. I got one for my Alaska cruise in August (most likely not going to happen though).

Pre covid for our Panama cruise last year I periodically got the booking emails well after booking. I think it happened maybe 6 times? There wasn’t a reason for it and it didn’t mean anything.
