Quick question.

If I want to book hotels through disney for May, do I need to pay all of it now or just a deposit?

Also, does it make a difference if you book online or by phone?

Do you have a Hay's travel nearby?

If so i recommend booking through them, they will do it direct with disney for you at no extra charge. They give you the option to pay when you like as long as a deposit is paid and they will give you a certain date it has to be paid by.

Then if you decide you want to add anything on like shows or meals you can go to hays and they will do that for you too.

If you book online with Disney, I think you have to pay upfront.
But you don't if you phone Disney to book - I believe it has to be paid 60 days before departure.

I found that if I wanted to book through DLP's website, the entire cost had to be paid up front.

However, when I called them, I only paid a deposit when booking.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll phone up.

Can you tell me, do you get a reminder to pay the balance or do you just have to remember to phone and pay the rest?

They did send a reminder letter to me. BUT I got it a day AFTER it was due because of the time it takes for mail to get to California from Paris. I called them immediately, in a panic, but it all worked out OK.

(In hindsight, it would have been better if our reservation had fallen through and we spent our entire time at the Explorers Hotel rather than wasting the money we spent at the Newport Bay. Of course, that's MHO.)

Also, if you're calling (I don't know where you're located), find a good calling plan. I used PennyTalk, which made the calls very reasonably priced.
