Booking Disney Resorts with Orbitz?

am I correct in assuming that I can just call the Disney call center at 407-939-5277?

Yes, there is no way to call the resort itself. Just call the main reservations line and have any requests added to your reservation.

I booked through Orbitz as well. 15% off on top of the Late Fall Disney discount. I also had the issue with adding a child. Disney would not do it unless Orbitz added him first. The first rep I spoke with was not helpful and argued with me. I asked for a supervisor and they very quickly were able to get my son added.
No issues with linking to MDE. No issues booking Magical Express. We only saved 200.00 but I feel like that is more than we would have saved using dining plan.

Thanks! Yeah, I just wasn't sure if the other poster meant that they called a call center somehow associated with Expedia. :) Good to know I can just call Disney and not Orbitz! :thumbsup2

We also booked yesterday and saved about $225 with the 15% code... enough to cover the tax vs booking direct! :) We weren't going to get the dining plan anyway.

How do you stack codes on Orbitz? I tried to go through the 30% off link...but I don't think I am doing it correctly. If I go from the main page I can add a 15% off code, but I don't get the other??

Alright well since it was $3083 cheaper with Orbitz... We booked it !!

We booked our Aug trip during the Disney Summer discount (30% off Deluxe) with Orbitz (promo code 20%) and got a great rate for WL (about $196 per nt). Very easy linking MDE and setting up ME. Just make sure when you go to your MDE to change the address to yours, it has Orbitz address when it's booked.

Don't go through the link. Search for Walt Disney World, or Lake Buena Vista, including your promo code. The search results *should* include the Disney discounts. If you look at the details of a room, you'll see the discount listed as an amenity.

No sorry to confuse! I just meant I googled the number listed for Pop Century and they answered the phone "Disney's Pop Century Resort" even though it was just a call center, not the actual resort.

I'm about to book through Orbitz for my fall trip. Should I call Orbitz to add my 2 YO DD or call Disney directly? What policy exactly do I need to state so they don't increase my rate? It was a substantial difference when I removed the 2 year old from the search! TIA

With that price difference the OP can buy a TIW card plus all the food they want. They don't need the deluxe plan.

I was able to find a 15% discount for orbitz- has anyone found anything better? I heard someone saved 3K! What kind of code was THAT :) :)

Is there a best length of time out from your stay to book through orbitz or does it just depend on what promos they happen to be running at a given time?

Specifically I am asking because I am booking for next April/May and if we can save a good amount we will forgo the dining plan and do the room only through Orbitz :)

I can only recommend what I did- and that was to call Orbitz (technically, it was an online chat). Tell them that Disney allows children to stay free, and ask them to call Disney on your behalf.

I think Orbitz has dealt with this so many times now that they won't be at all surprised to hear from you!

planning a trip for me and my gf's anniversary in february and now am really torn whether to book through disney or go thru orbitz. Orbitz definitely will save more money but booking thru disney online allows for payments over time and any discounts that do come out can be applied to my package retro actively. I may just have to wait to see what discounts come out for jan/feb season and hope i can get the room we want.

Well it was for Grand Floridian theme park view for 7 nights. I got 30% off on Orbitz then an extra 15%... It's still $399 a night but is better than over $650 a night with Disney. :) But we did have to pay the total cost up front but have free cancellation until 5 days before our trip starts.
