Booking Dining reservations...travel agent or on our own?

We are going to be booking our WDW vacation through AAA. The agent that we are using is wonderful and is taking care of EVERYTHING. She told me that once I pass information on to her, she will be making the dining reservations for us!!! I have to say I am a bit nervous about this. I am used to being in control of things that matter....(obviously in the grand scheme of the world dining reservations don't matter, but you know what I mean). HAs anyone that has booked through AAA gone ahead and made their own dining reservations? Waht do you think about having the TA do it?

I can't answer as to ever having AAA TA book my ADR's but I understand your hesitance at someone else booking them. I am admitably a control freak and securig my ADR's is not something I would want to be left up to someone else. These boards are one place that it's okay to say that ADR's are a big deal without anyone thinking you're a freak!

I guess I don't see what there is to worry about in terms of having the TA do it. You trusted the TA to book the vacation (certainly a very large purchase) so why not trust them to book the ADR's?

I guess I just think that there is probably some flexiblity inolved...like if our breakfast with Pooh and the characters is full at the 8:00 time slot that we want and 9:45, 10:30 and 11:00 are open, I want to be able to say that 9:45 is the best for us, please don't do the 10:30 or 11:00 etc. but if she is making the ADRs then she might not know....I am just a bit nervous. I wonder if I an make them instead of her?

I book my trip and package through my CAA and I book my ADR's. My travel agent said she can or I can but if I want specifics she said it is better for me to bicker with them then her. She said she will get no better ADR's then I will personally.

Control freak here! No way would I turn over making my reservations to someone else. I made my ADRs at exactly 180 days at 7am our time. I got exactly what I wanted! I had made my decisions 2 months in advance. In 10 days I will find out if I did a good job! Last trip my choices were a huge hit with everyone. This trip we will be on the dining plan & I think I have made great choices for everyone.

I have planned several trips for friend & made their ADRs, but I won't even let DH make our ADRs for me. It's just part of the fun of my trip!
