booking deluxe resort for four families

Hello, We are a group of 4 families going in oct 2007. We have not decided which resort yet but it will definitely be a deluxe. What is the best way for us to get rooms together? Can I book all 4 rooms under my name. If I get an AAA discount and book all the rooms under my name do the other three families also have to have AAA membership even though the rooms where under my name? Anyone have any opinions on which deluxe resorts would be best for a group?

Not sure about the AAA discount but if you go through Disney World directly, you can book all four rooms in your name. They will ask for who is staying in what room. Then the reservations will be linked together. I've done this with a smaller group and had great success. Just tell the Cast Member what you want to do. They usually are very helpful. Last time, when I told the guy I wanted to make another reservation for my in-laws, he asked if I wanted their room to be in another building! I do love my in-laws and we ended up with connecting rooms.

I just booked what Disney calls a Grand Gathering for three families. I was given a GG # to share with my group. I was able to reserve rooms for all of us--each with a separate confirmation #. Now each family can call and make whatever payment arrangements suit them. Since we are a grand gathering, we get priority for getting our rooms close together. I think one of the Epcot resorts would be the best. You have wonderful access to Epcot, MGM and tons of choices of restaurants. Depending on the age of the kids, you may want to stay at the Beach Club so they can enjoy StormaLong Bay.

If the kids are small, the Polynesian may be your best bet being so close to MK. But there is a widen variety of activities at the Epcot resorts.
