I have questions about booking a ressie day-by-day. A MS CM told me this is done often by members, and while I understand the reason behind it, but I'm confused as to how to do it!

On the first call can you just book one night or is there a minimum stay? Then what dialogue takes place on the follow up calls?
What do you tell MS when they come on the phone - are you adding to a current ressie, or what? Then what happens if you hit a snag and can't get a day?

Lots of questions, I know! Can someone give me a typical scenario? Thanks! natt

Yes, you can simply add dates to the original reservation. Let MS know on the first call what you are trying to accomplish and to hold your confirmation until the entire reservation has been made. Otherwise, you'll end up with one confirmation sheet for each day booked. The current minimum stay is one night.

In most cases, you will have no problem booking day-by-day 11 months ahead. If you should find a day unavailable, just waitlist (you'll be at the top of the waitlist) and continue calling for your other dates.

Good Luck! :)

I've never had any trouble when I book day by day. Once I give MS my member number, they seem to know exactly what reservations I already have - adding a day to the reservation I "started" previously has always been easy (if there is availability, and at 11 months, there always has been so far, LOL).

The minimum number of nights that you must reserve is ONE! On the first call, I just book my night and then tell the CM that I will be calling daily until I have all of my nights. The CM usually asks for my "final" check out date so that she/he can put on note on the reservation and "hold off" mailing the confirmation until the reservation is complete.

When I make the subsequent calls, I just tell them I want to add the next day. (I'm ready with my reservation number, but so far haven't had to give it back to them to add days). Haven't had any problems and I've booked day by day several times (for standard views at BWV in early December). The CMs have been very nice and none of them have ever indicated that daily booking is a problem. Sometimes they tell me that it is good I am doing it daily because they are gettting lots of calls for the time I want. As mentioned above, they see my reservation as soon as I give them my member number.

HTH.

Just one point to add natt,
MS is not open on Sat or Sunday, so you're Monday call will probably capture two days (Assuming you're staying long enough for that to involve you're 11 month step back).

Good luck, I've used it two years in a row to secure a week in a BWV standard 1 bedroom.
I love saving points.

Thanks for the info! I noticed the previous thread on this after I'd already submited this! This is beginning to make me nervous as to the foresite and planning that needs to go into this! Not that I'm NOT an obsessive overplanner (I AM:rolleyes: ) but DH may not always be in a frame of mind to discuss things when I need to be firming things up! Hopefully things will seem easier once I've gotten my feet wet at this whole thing! natt
