Hi!
Has anyone booked a cruise with points? If so, does the point cost include taxes, gov fees and fuel surcharges? I realize their is a $95 fee, is that per person and is that the only fee? Thank you for the info!:thumbsup2

Yes, the point cost includes all fees.

If I remember correctly, the $95 fee is just for the booking, not aper person charge, so you only have to pay it once. I didn't have to pay anything else for port charges, taxes, or fuel surcharges. I know a lot of people say not to use your points for DCL, but I got double developer points last year, and I knew that I couldn't use them all since it's usually only my mom who travels with me. I thought it was an excellent use of my points. YMMV.

Booking the cruise through MS on points will include all taxes and fees, save for the $95 exchange fee that you will need to pay MS at the time of booking. It is one flat fee.

What is not included would be transfers to the Port and back from either the airport or the WDW resorts. Also, insurance would be separate as well.

YOu can cruise totally on points, or combine points with cash if you need to stretch out your points. I often use points to cruise and feel that the value is worthwhile for us.

Great info...thanks so much! Our children are getting older and we can see that in the near future, we may not go thru the points as quickly, and may need to find other ways to use them. I think a 7 night cruise is in our future!:cool1: thanks again!:goodvibes

I booked a 4-day cruise for February 2009 on the Wonder a few weeks ago, using points. Besides the non-refundable $95 booking fee, we were charged a fuel surcharge of $32 per person.

I don't know if this is a new policy, but it is being charged now.

Yes, it is a fairly new policy. I believe it went into effect in the Spring. It is a $8 per person, per day fee. There is a cap on how much can be charged to each sailing party, but I do not recall the amount. I'm thinking it was $150, but I could be wrong.

Is there a way to get adjoining rooms or close-by rooms when you are booking 4 rooms on cash and 1 room on points? DU is doing my cash rooms and I am doing my points room. This is for Jan. 2010.
