My 180 day mark is today (currently waiting to book ADRs). I believe today as well, I can book BBB for my DD. Is that correct? If so, anyone know their hours? Can it be done online?

Yes, you can book today. You have to call and they start answering at 7:00.

I would suggest an early appt if they have one. As the day goes on, they tend to get backed up because sometimes princesses get fussy and it takes a little longer and a little more pixie dust to do their makeover :thumbsup2princess:

does not usually do a large breakfast. Even when we did CM for breakfast we would book around 11:00 AM.

We usually booked around 9:30-10:00 AM with a CRT lunch ressie around noon. We could hit a couple of rides in Fantasyland before the appointment. BBB was not backed up by then. Our daughter had a chance to go around with her princess dress and BBB makeover between the appointment and lunch. After lunch we could head back to the resort for a break. This was usually June and the princess dresses could be hot.

It worked for us.

This Grandmom, taking her little Princess to BBB for the first time, really appreciates your suggestions.

If we have a 6:30pm dinner reservation, what time do you recommend to book BBB? We're going in October so am hoping for not too hot weather.

Hi there, just wanted to put my two sense in as someone who has worked as a "Fairy Godmother in Training." One question I would have is how tolerant your daughter is on having her hair tight. These hairstyles tend to get pulled tightly in order to stay as long as possible. I have had both circumstances where kids have wanted to pull it out within a couple hours because it was too tight for them but also have had parents see me in the parks later in their week and tell me the hairstyle is still going strong at day 4(the fairy tale hairstyle mostly) and those kids were able to sleep in it for days.

Another question is how fine is your daughter's hair and how old is she? If she is school aged (6-10) has a full head of hair it'll last longer than wispy hair of a late toddler/preschool aged child.

Another question is do you plan on riding splash mountain? If so I'd ride before the appointment!

Yet another factor is the hairstyle itself. Like I said the fairytale can last for days on the right person but the ones with the fake extension can mess up a bit more easily.

Other than that, the hairstyles will last a good amount of time as long as she doesn't pull at it. I would watch how the Fairy Godmother teases and places the fake extensions if that's the hairstyle she picks, that way you can do touch ups on your own if she messes it up and gets upset. It also helps to watch when it comes to taking the hairstyle out! You'll know what's been pinned, where the elastics are, etc.

So I guess my advice is unless she has really wispy hair, is bothered by having her hair tight, or plans on going on splash mountain multiple times you can pretty much plan it for anytime :) Enjoy!!!

Are all the hairstyles kind of tight? Although Grandpa really wanted her to have the experience, she's not too thrilled about having tight hairstyles so I'm wondering if there might be something else. Do you make appointments at the barber shop? If not, any idea on a typical wait just for a trim and some fairy dust?

Thank you. I will be canceling our appts now. How disappointing. My girls have been dying to do this but are very sensitive. Friends told us it was not very tight but seeing that someone who worked there says it is very tight we will probably have to cancel again this year.

Yes, you can make appointments at the Harmony Barbershop. The typical wait might depend on when you go and how many appointments they have. The barbershop is great. You get a cut and they will put your hair in a ponytail and sprinkle the big chunky glitter on. Reasonable price too.

You can definitely ask them to not be so tight. Sorry should have mentioned that. It just may not stand the test of a full day/sleeping on it. I have personally made it looser for children who seemed sensitive. They will however need to brush it until all the knots are out so if your child has a sensitivity to that, I would bring a brush and brush it through in the waiting area first since they will probably be more comfortable with you.

Also just keep in mind, the girls at the BBB are NOT trained hair stylists they are just trained on the styles they have to do for the BBB. Some of the college programmers may have experience in a salon, but most won't. Prior to this training, I had ZERO experience with hair and a lot of the other girls in my program were the same way. We are taught to make it tight to make sure it looks perfect, however, for sensitive heads they CAN and most likely WILL make some kind of accommodations. However, in this case, a 9:00 appointment may not still be perfect for a 6:30 ADR.

That is a big difference. We have a 330 our last day. They want to swim their last morning. I could care less about it lasting overnight. Maybe we will try it if they can do it not so tight.

HI. OP Here. A couple more questions:

  1. Do you need to pay in full when you book your appointment? Or is it like ADRs where they take your CC and will only charge if you don't show up?
  2. How quickly do they book up?
  3. Are you flexible to move the days around?
  4. What is a good time to book if we have a 6pm ADR? (no swimming or crazy rides for my 5 year old)

The reason for my second and third question is I want to coordinate BBB with our CRT dinner night. But when booking ADRs yesterday I didn't get my first choice for CRT (Monday) so moved it to later in the week (Thursday). So right now, I would like to book BBB for the Thursday. But if a time opens up on the Monday, then I may prefer to move both CRT and BBB to Monday. Or is that not likely as time goes on?
