We are a group of 8 going to go to Hawaii in May 2015. We are renting a 2BR and a studio for our friends. (We know a 2BR sleeps 8, but thinking we might need a little spread out room). My question-where and what building is a 2BR the best.
We are getting a 2BR ocean view, and my friends a studio pool view.
Question 1- Are they in the same building?
Question 2- we want a HIGH 2br view... Is studios on the lower floor?
Question 3- What building to ask for?

THANKS in advance..

The Waianae and Ewa long wing Towers have both categories.
A studio can be on the same floor as a 2 BDR, but PV and OV will be different floors. PV will only go to floor 5 or 7 depending on the tower, and the OV are the higher floors.
If you haven't already, check out the villas and views thread...http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2907389

Thanks Girlmama 33...

Now, which rooms (2BR Ocean View) would have a look at the sunset? Or which
building and Room?

I can't see the Villas and Views thread info at work, but for a sunset view, you would want the long wing of the Ewa Tower with a room as close to the lagoon as possible.
Or you want the side of the Waianae Tower that is the opposite side of the pool. Hope that helps.

Just my 2 cents having just done pool view I would recommend your friends get island view. It's less points and they can get a high floor so they can get an ocean view also and maybe on the same floor as you??

Hope it is ok to ask a question here on the views? What tower goes to the 7th floor and which to the 5th for the pool views? I am going in December and am not sure what request to put in either.

I was told pool view only goes to 5 in all buildings. We had 586. Pictures on page 1 of Aulani view thread

I do not know why I thought I read 7th floor on one of the towers.

Well, I have a few points to use, and am not worried about points. Also, I am taking my friends to a "once in a lifetime" trip to Hawaii, and do not want to go cheap on the view..
Have yet to understand why people fly 5-6-7-8-9 hours to stay in a standard view to save a few points...:roll eyes:

But, that is more "better views" for me to choose from!!:cool1:

Thanks for info, however....

We stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean view and had my in laws in a pool view studio. We did online check in and when we Arrived ( all together) they had us in the same bldg, us on the 10th floor and In laws on 2nd. They offered to move them a bit closer and were able to put them on the 5 th floor which was much better. The lobby is on the 3 rd floor (lots of activity so I imagine tons of foot traffic and noise on 3 ) and pool level is 1. I really wouldn't want anything below 4 or 5, so was very glad they got moved up from 2. My inlaws were happy on 5. the balcony view was just at the top of palm trees with a peek of the ocean. It was easy enough for them to pop up to our unit on 10 for breakfast, a movie or whatever. Definitely make sure you are all in the same bldg. You won't get the same floor with those room categories.

We were in Long Wing Ewa Building 10th Floor 2 Br L.O. 1077,1079, Island View 1st week of June of this yr. GORGEOUS view of ocean, wedding chapel, directly over Starlit Hui, couldn't have been HAPPIER!:thumbsup2:goodvibes
Not that great on "technology" to "copy" my original post here and link, but if you would like to see my pic of the view, go back to the Aulani Villas and Views thread, dated 6/11/14 and I posted the view!
I requested Long Wing Ewa Building, Highest Floor Possible in my reservation with MS and was VERY PLEASED!:thumbsup2 I was up earlier every day before the rest of my family and was so HAPPY watching the sun rise over the resort!:goodvibes
ENJOY AULANI!::yes:::banana:

The lobby is on the 3 rd floor (lots of activity so I imagine tons of foot traffic and noise on 3 ) and pool level is 1.

In my opinion, the only section of villas that may experience increased foot traffic and noise due to the lobby are the handful of villas (#352, #354, #356, and #358) that in the Ewa Building Phase 1. Anyone walking from the lobby to the elevators for the Ewa Building has to pass by these villas.

All the other villas that are on the third floor are located beyond the banks of elevators in both the Ewa Building and the Waianae Building. Thus, guests walking to and from the lobby have no need to go pass the elevators and walk down the hallways of the Waianae Building or the other wings of the Ewa Building.

Anyone who is a light sleeper imo would be unhappy since there is SO MUCH foot traffic, people talking etc. I thought of exactly that issue as we walked by them to get to the elevator bank.
