How does one figure out when one can book "11 months" in advance? 180 days are easy to figure out, but what is 11 months? If I want to book November 11-17, would I call December 17? Or is it 30*11 days in advance? Or does it depend on whether it's a leap year? :)

To book November 11-17, 2008, you could call on December 17, 2007 to book all of the dates or call day-by-day to book one day at a time. That is, you could call Dec 12 for the night of Nov 11, Dec 13 for the night of Nov 12, Dec 14 for the night of Nov 13, etc. Except you could not call on a Sunday, of course.

The simple way to keep it all straight is to go to www.caskbill.com and download Bill's excellent DVC Planner. It's FREE for personal use and gives you the exact dates to call...adjusted for those days when MS is not open.

That's just one thing it does. It also gives you points costs until the end of the world as we know it, banking deadlines -- you name it, this program has it. DVC Planner is an essential tool for anyone who owns DVC.

Did I mention that it is F...R...E...E...???

This is by far the most useful tool ever . . . it makes point counting fun!!:thumbsup2

I'm very excited now..
I've read about Caskbill's planner for a few years, and just now downloaded it! :)
I'll get started with it in the morning...

Thanx Caskbill!! :thumbsup2

It's very helpful. I used it on our last trip. I need to re-download it for this trip.

I wanted to book May 12-18 of next year, so I called the morning of June 19 and the final day still was not available - the CM went to check why and said her supervisor said there was an extra day in the month, not sure which month she meant, I didn't ask, but I called back the next morning for my final day and all was well. But the planner could have saved me the trouble.

You're way over-thinking this. Its simply 11 months ahead. Going November 11-17, then call 11 months ahead of your check-out date; December 17th.

Thanks for all the responses. But I'm still

Some folks seem to be saying I should, for example, call December 12 to book November 11, but some said I should call December 11 for the same day.

I'll add my 2cents. Get Caskbill's planning program downloaded ASAP. You can print out your vacation report(even will give your the day by day dates if you are inclined to call day by day for 11/7 months). I use it to write down the confirm number and save it until the hardcopy comes in the mail.

Also it provides hours of amusement in playing with the # of trips, resorts and type of rooms you can get for your number of points. :lmao: Plus it allows you to save those plans for future reference.

I said to call on December 12 for the NIGHT of November 11. Thus, it is 11 months from the day of check out.

If your check out day is May 19th, then you should have been able to book the entire stay on June 19th. I don't see any reason that MS should have prevented you from booking the last night (May 18th) when you called on June 19th.

OT Cruiser1969, but..................that is the CUTEST signature!! :thumbsup2

Why thank you!! I took the picture on my trip in May . . . didn't realize I was taking a picture of my soon-to-be home resort!!:lmao: Mind you, I knew it was Saratoga Springs, but I didn't think we would actually "go for it" 2 days after we returned home!!

I just put the whole design together yesterday:goodvibes

I don't mind sharing if anyone wants to grab it for themselves:goodvibes
