Booking akv/ssr at 7 mos?

Hi all, well, we're thinking about adding on 100 akv points using the new incentive to our current ssr contract. My question is, as I understand it, we can only book our 100 akv points at akv at 11mos, and can't book the rest of of our ssr points there until 7 mos out. If we tend to travel in Nov ( the first week or so not Thanksgiving) will we be able to get a 2br at 7mos? If we end up having to travel in Aug, (we have twin daughters starting high school next week, so this may be necessary soon), could we still get ssr or akv at 7 mos? Thanks so much!

I had no problems booking with my incentive points (I own at SSR, but also received incentive points with the 7 month limitation) at SSR about 3 months out, for a vacation in June. There was plenty to pick from - it's such a large resort. This was for a studio.

I wouldn't think early November would be a problem. August maybe, just because part of August is still summer vacation time and part of August may be free dining if they do it again.

We were even able to change part of our reservation from SSR to VWL on about 2 months notice. Again, a studio.

We also booked a 1BR at BCV for Christmas week at 7 months out - had to waitlist for 1 day, but it came through a few weeks ago.

So far, we've had good luck.

Booking SSR for an August vacation at 7 months will not be a problem.

Early November at AKV at 7 months may be a problem if you are talking about "Jersey Week". That week tends to fill quickly at the other DVC resorts. You won't know until you try - book what you can (weekedays) with the 100 AKV points and then complete the reservation at 7 months. If you call as soon as your window opens, you'll have the best chance.

IMHO, we really don't have enough experience with AKV to make reliable predictions. There are going to be quite a few savannah view 2 bedroom units once Kidani completes. Once everything is declared into the condominium, I think AKV will be among the easier DVC resorts to book at 7 months (excluding the conceirge and value units).

Thanks for your thoughts. I guess it sounds like we won't have to worry about getting a reservation, anyway. DH is still not thrilled with having to only book with the points you have at a given resort at 11mos, then waiting until 7mos to book the rest. The deal is good until Sept., though, so we have some time to think it over. We haven't even stayed for our first time as DVC'ers yet! We're sure we're going to love it, though.
