I know there have been some recent posts on this, but haven't seen the answer to this. Can I book air if I book a room only? We are thinking of getting our tickets through the YES program and not booking DDP, so when I go to price that out, it doesn't give me the airfare option unless I also select tickets. Right now Airtran is $200 less for 3 people through Disney than on their site. Anyone know if I call could I get the airfare if I just have the room booked? I hate to call and go through all that BS if the answer is definitely no. Thanks!

Room only is just that, room only. Air is offered with packages. You CAN book a "basic package" that consists of just room & tax with the promotional vouchers that normally come with packages but you will be subject to package rules, i.e. 45 day final payment and cancel penalties within 45 days. Due to those "bonus extras" the package might be a few dollars higher. Air can then be added to this "basic package". I'd expect you'd need to call for this, and some CM's may not know about it since it's not often booked this way.

If you already have a room only booking guest services might have to get involved to convert it to a package if you have a promo code on it that's expired. If the promo and room still exists the CM will cancel your old reservation and create a new package one. Deposits can't be transferred between the two, different systems.

Most times the WDTC air is the same as you see online, They have a few group blocks with some airlines (Air Tran is one) out of select cites at lower rates but once their seat allotment is booked you get normal rates for those flights too. Play around on the WDTC web site for your dates, and compare those air prices to the prices on the airline's web site. They might be the same.

Thanks, I did check the dates and yes, we'd save around $200 booking airfare through Disney. However, we'd lose that $200 in savings having to buy our park tickets with the package instead of through the YES program, so I guess it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other.

A "basic package" is just a room & tax, no park tickets.

But it doesn't give me the option of booking that with airfare online, maybe if I call?

Did you select "Book a vacation package?" Once you do that and select your resort, you should have a option that says "Flight" right under "Dining and Entertainment."

Make sure you do the package and not anything else or you won't get that option.

I tried that but when I delete tickets off the package, dining and flight options disappear.

Disney won't let you book room only and airfare together. You have to have at least room & tickets in order to book the other options online.

You might be able to call them to do it but it's not possible online.
