Hello everyone,

I am in processes of booking my trip for this summer. I am torn between which dinning plan to purchase. Also which resort to book. I have seen that Coronado Springs, Carrbiean Beach, Animal Kingdom Lodge (standard View), and Garden view at the Grand Floridean all have availability.

This is a Trip for my self been there over 35 times and my wife First true visit. Any suggestions would help.

Thank you all in advance.

Hi & Welcome to the boards... When in the summer are you thinking about going? All the resorts that you picked are great choices, I personally think all resorts that are on property are wonderful. The main pool at the CBR is being refurbed till middle of Sept, CSR is very nice and its one of the only resorts on property that doesnt share buses, AKL is a great hotel w/ some wonderful resturants & the GF is thier flaghship resort w/ great restaurants, the monorail & all in all is spectacular... is price an issue?
As for the dining plan... are the two of you big eaters? My DH & I are.. I love having my 3 meals a day w/ choices in between... so the deluxe dining plan is the way that we go.. If you arent then stick w/ the regular dining plan and see how you like it.

Wishing you a wonderful trip for you and your DW... Dont forget to get her a first timers button when you check in or when you enter one of the parks. :)

personal opinion--i'd go AK or GF more romantic GF has great dining as does AK and sometimes staying around your resort is fun!!! :goodvibes

Congratulations on your trip. You will have lots of fun and make lots of memories. As far as the dining plan goes I have a few questions. How long will you be staying? Do you like to eat a very nice signature style resturants? My dh and I go every year. This past Jan/Feb trip we got the deluxe dining plan. It allowed us to eat at more of the nicer resturants. Because it was just the two of us we had more time to get through the parks faster than a larger family so we had plenty of time to enjoy longer dinners and breakfasts.
As far as resorts go what kind of things does your wife like? For example if she loves animals than stay at GF, if she likes island life than stay at the Poly, ect.....
I love the way you want to make it special for her. I have a couple of other suggestions to add to the specialness (is that a word?) for her.
1.

me again--my computer went nuts for a moment. So back to my ideas.
1. Eat at Coral Reef and arrange for a personalized menu and diver for
her with a sign that tells her you love her
2 have a basket or flowers delivered to your room for her
3 arrange for a spa treatment
4 go see shows ( La Nouba, Hoop De Do Revue, ect...)
5. rent a boat for an evening ride to watch the fireworks or sunset
Have a great time.

WELCOME!!! That's awesome. We've been to WDW many times as a family, but also honeymooned there - stayed at the Grand Flo. Very romantic. DW and I are going back alone next Mar for our 15th anniversary, but we're planning on staying at the Poly for that trip.

How long will you be there? What kinds of things have you NOT done before. You say this is her first "true" visit - what do you mean by that... has she been on property but not stayed there? Has she never ever been at all? Has she only done a park? Hmm...

There are lots of good tips to make the trip special for her. You could go over for a moonlit carriage ride at PO Riverside. Rent a canopy boat for the afternoon and take a picnic lunch along with you. Get an ADR at her favorite type of food in WS. If you are going to get the DDP, upgrade to include the Wine feature. If she likes being pampered, get her a gift certificate for the spa at GF or SSR. Just some ideas...

AK gets my vote it is so fun!!!!!

I have never done a dinning plan???

hope you and your wife have fun

Thanks for all the advice.

To answer a couple of questions that came up. First by true visit to Disney is this. She has been once for 5 days the issue was it was with 14 people so it wasnt at her pace it was a follow me pace so she didnt get to see what she wanted and with that many people it can get a bit stressing. The second question is how long it will be 6 days. The best part of it is the first day we will be there by 8 am so we truly get the first day to be a full day.

I am not sure we will be at the room much and will probably eat at the resort very little unless we are at the GF because we will eat at the California Grill.

I will soon start my pre trip report and will carry it through the complete report.

Thank you all so much.

If price is not an issue stay at GF, it is Awesome. If you need to save a few dollars I would go with Coranado. I love the dining plan, we always get the basic plan, but if you want to eat at a bunch of signature restaurants like Cali grill you might want to upgrade. If it's just Cali grill then go with the basic. I would also recommend LeCellier and Kona for nicer meals and 50's PT Cafe for a fun meal. Have a great trip.
