My ds is expecting a baby in June :sunny: (they live in Port Orange, FLa.)(our 1rst grandchild princess: ) and my dd and I will leave (NC) when she goes into labor! :cool1: We will be with them 5 days :) , but would like to spend 2 nights at Disney (since we are in the neighborhood :rotfl: and my dd does not take much time off from work:sad2:) I always book my trips months in advance, but was wondering if I can book a trip just 5 or so days in advance? :teeth: Also, do you think there will be any availability early to mid June? Thanks for any help! :rotfl2:

First, congratulations on the upcoming birth of your 1st grandbaby! :cool1:

Here's what I went through in February & March regarding making a reservation:

My DH had interviewed for a job (first week of Feb.), and if he got it, take a quick vacation before he started. The job is with the state. We were in limbo for two weeks trying to figure out if he was going to get an offer and then another week and 1/2 after he was offered the job for the paperwork to get through (started March 20). So, I was calling MS all the time to see if there was availability -- a couple days before a "trip" would begin, then I called for the next week, etc. Finally I was able to make a reservation about 5 or so days before leaving.

MS was very nice about checking. One call -- no availability (end of Feb.) and the other two calls, there was availability, but limited. I would think that the beginning of June would be a good time. Most schools are still in session (except some colleges), so not a lot of families at the resorts.

Give MS a call and ask them to check. Again, they were super nice when I told them I was only checking. Plus, this will give you an idea if this time is busy or not.

Good luck!!

We just booked at SSR during spring break at very last minute. Like a few days ahead. I think you will be just fine. Your selection might not be exactly what you want in terms of room size, but I am sure they will have something.

We booked 16 nights at SSR last summer, in the car on the way down from Washington DC. We checked in the following day.

Southern schools and colleges are already out and there will probably be some families that will skip the last week of school (if that's the last week). However I dont think that would be enough to do anything other than perhaps preempt you from getting into BCV. There probably would be availability every where else.

I doubt if you could get anything at BWV, BCV or VWL. SSR or OKW might have something, but early June is really pretty busy. As is the rest of the summer.

Last month I called on Thursday for a Tuesday the following week ressie. We not only got what we wanted but we had a choice! March is much slower than June but it was during spring breaks. It certainly is worth a try.

We have booked last minute lots of times, sometimes you need to go on a waiting list.....we have been able to get reservations when we were on the waitlist too!!! As long as you are flexable as to where you want stay, I would definately give it a try!!!

I added a night to a business trip in early February about a week before. I got a studio at BCV for a Thursday night.

Chances are that if you are not too fussy about where you stay, you can probably get into one of the larger resorts.

I have found that OKW and SSR have last minute availability.

Since there are only 2 of you, you could really take any size room at any resort (if you have enough points). The more options, the better the likelihood of getting something.

OK get this. We are on the wiating list at BWV for the last full week in June. I was wondering if I should give up and just book at SSR. So I asked MS if they could tell me what the availability is at SSR so I don't get locked out withou any hotel. She checks availibility at SSR (the only open hotel). She gives me this for the week June 17 to 22)

There are 60 Studios available for the entire time
There are 200 1 bedroom for the entire time
There are 120 2 bedrooms available for the entire time

So I stayed on the waiting list. I just was surprised how many rooms were still available.
