I had absolutely no clue where to put this- hope it's the right place.

While this will be our 4th trip to Disney, this is our 1st time staying on Disney property. We want to book at the Pop for 1st week of Sept. I see that if you book by 7/31 you get 20% off, which is a good deal..turns out to be $80 a night. My questions: Do you have to book now (Which is about 4 months till the trip) or can I wait until the end of summer? Not sure how this all works- if there will be rooms avail if I wait to book(I want a standard no frills room). I know this is Value Season 2, the 2nd lowest rates, but is it still very busy? Do you think I can wait until 1 or 2 months out and book or will all rooms be taken? I would just book now but want to be 100% sure we can do it, as we are still looking to buy a home, just haven't found anything yet.

Also, I think I read that at time of booking a room you put a $200 deposit. If I need to switch dates, do they allow that? I called but was on hold so long, it's a busy day today as the discounts opened up to public, I should have called yesterday cause I am Disney Visa Card holder.

I tried to search before asking but didn't find what I was looking for.

Hope you seasoned DIS peeps can help me out!! :)

Your best bet is to book asap. With the room discount and free dining deals out - rooms are booking quickly. You may want to book free dining instead of RO discount. :confused3

A Free Dining discount could save you $130 per night, depending on resort.

All you have to put down to book a WDW vacation package is $200, which is totally refundable up to 45 days before check in. You can switch dates, resorts or room categories and keep the same resort reservation number - you would not rebook.

Thank you both for your responses. I finally got thru to Disney, a few times I was getting "All circuits busy". So I ended up booking a room only discount thru them b/c it seemed like our best option. We aren't big eaters and since we are driving, we will have a lot of our own food to bring into parks. The FD didn't work out for us, as we did have him price out RO discount and the FD one. RO it is.

And since this isn't a package that I'm booking, I had to pay for the 1st night w/ my CC and if I had to cancel it would be refundable as long as I cancel within 5 days of the trip dates.
