booking a tour or dessert party

When you book a tour or dessert party, does Disney give you a confirmation email??
I asked my TA to book a tour for me. She didn't email me a confirmation.
I did see a charge from WDW but the transaction said "room only reservation"

BTW, is there tax for tour and dessert party?? I wasn't charge for tax for the booking for tour.

I just booked the Wild Africa Trek today and the CM made it a point of telling me I would not get an email and it would not appear on MDE. She did get my email address but told me again I would not get a confirmation. She did give me a reservation # on the phone.

Not sure about tours, but the price Disney quotes for the HEA dessert parties, for example, include tax.

I did not get an email for dessert party, but it does appear in MDE. Look there and see if it's in your itinerary.

I've booked, cancelled, and rebooked two dessert parties for a trip next week, and got emails for each booking and each cancellation - same kind of email as with any ADR. Haven't booked any tours so no help there.

I’ve never booked a tour but I’ve booked several dessert parties and received an email for all of them.

As others have said, dessert parties are handled like dining ADR's, so you would get a confirmation e-mail for those. There are no e-mail confirmations for tours, nor will they show up in MDE (something they really need to fix, IMHO). Ask your TA for the tour confirmation number which they should have given to her when she booked the tour. You can then go into the "Notes" section in your MDE account and add the tour information to the day you are going. It will then, at least, show up in your itinerary to remind you you are going! And you'll have the confirmation number in case something happens and you need to prove you booked or you need to call and cancel.

I have never gotten a confirmation email for any tours I have booked, their systems just don't have that functionality. They also don't show up on your MDE account either. I find it a bit annoying, but it is what it is. They will give you a confirmation number over the phone though and because I'm super paranoid, I always call a few days before my trip and verify that my tour reservations are all in order and good thing because one year they had me in on the wrong day. Thankfully I was able to get it changed around with no problem.

For dessert parties, those will show up on your MDE and you get an email in the same way you do for any ADR you book.

I booked Caring For Giants and he gave me a confirmation number, but told me I wouldn't get an email and it wouldn't show up in MDE and that has been correct. I did hold onto my CC receipt as confirmation as well as the confirmation number Disney provided.
