I am almost ready to book our vacation. I can't seem to find the terms of booking for Universal for onsite hotels/tickets. Disney's is quite clear - $200 down and then rest due 45 days before arrival. Does anyone know what Universal's policy is?

$50 deposit rest about 45 before arrival.

Thanks much! Are they lenient like Disney is with changes as for as adding to the package. Disney doesn't normally charge a fee if you are adding more $$ to your package.

When we booked a package last year (which we later canceled b/c I realized it was about the most expensive way I could find to book what we wanted) we were charged $75 deposit.

Minutes ago I booked my hotel stay for an onsite hotel :cool1: and they required the first night charge to be put on a credit card to hold the reservation.

We haven't booked a package in years now but there was a deposit and then the rest was due about 45 days before. Unless there is some new perk for booking a package, price it all out separately because it is usually cheaper to do things separately. We use our AAA discount for the room, buy our tickets through AAA for a discount, and then use our AAA card in the parks for the 10% discount. If you book a room separately you will have to put down one nights rate for a deposit. We booked our two rooms for Aug. and paid a one night deposit for each room. We then applied the AAA discount when it was available and the difference will be made up when we pay when we check out instead of getting a credit on our cc.

Do you get paperwork in the mail like you do with Disney, like confirmation and package information?

Also, can you go on universal site and make payments whenever you want or are just supposed to pay the balance at 45 days out in one lump sum?

Thanks

I am researching going to Universal this summer and happened to call this morning about this exact thing.

its $50 per person deposit paid within 7 days of making the reservations and the balance 45 days before the trip
