Booking a package through AAA

We are traveling through AAA on our next trip and have received the Diamond parking pass; however, I don't know which is closer parking - Diamond or Handicapped. Does anyone know?

Thanks!!

We used AA as well, and had a great agent too. I did not use a local one. I found a great one through DIS boards and went with her. I didn't know about the Worl of Disney discaount though. Bummer!

What is the 15 dollar fee you are talking about? Are you talkingabout the member ship fee? ( ours was around 50) We made are own ADR's as well. I think if you find your agent to be not very knowledgable right away, then change immediately.

We have used AAA several times for WDW and Disney cruise packages. The experience has always been good. If you get an agent that doesn't seem Disney smart, go to another local AAA office or move over one desk to another travel agent in the same office. Their level of competance is not the same. If they say that no room is available, usually it's because they are only looking for rooms that get the AAA discount. For my next trip, I wanted a MK view at the GF. There were no AAA discount rooms available. Like a good sales agent, she tried to put me in something else. When I insisted on what I wanted, she went ahead and booked it. It will cost me the same as if I had done it on-line, but I'm maintaining my relationship with the TA for future trips. I book my own ADRs and air fare. I don't need or even want an agent doing that for me.

We're going for a 4 day trip in the middle of August. I booked a AAA room at POP. We're considering doing the dining plan and if I book a package through AAA, I can still get the same amount off as I would on the room, minus the $15 fee. I have never booked through AAA and have always taken care of all the reservations myself. I get a little nervous booking through AAA due to a few problems I have read from other guests on this forum over the years.

Anyone have any success stories and advice to keep in mind when booking through AAA? Also, am I able to make my own dining reservations when I book through them?

Thanks!

Ok, I have only booked thru AAA. I have a great TA, she is wonderful. Last year she booked us at WL, and saved us about $400. This year we are at GF and she has been able to save us almost $1000 total in package and airfare. We didn't have any problems on our last trip and I don't anticipate any this time.

Has anyone with AAA booked through another TA, like Small World Vacations or Dreams Unlimited and just used their AAA discount with them?? If so, did you still get the fun freebies, like the luggage tags, discount card, etc.??

I am thinking of doing that since my local AAA agent is clueless when it comes to Disney!!

Here's my question: I booked our WDW package with AAA and went back two weeks later to add two more days. My agent called Disney while I was there and they told her that it would cost over $2000 to add two more nights at POFQ not counting hopper passes because we already have the 10 day passes which I was told was the max you could get. I feel like someone is screwing up somewhere because it's hard for me to believe that two more nights for two rooms plus air fare change for 5 people could cost that much! If I'm using a TA, can I call Disney myself to double check or do I have to have the TA do it?

We've booked through AAA about 4 times now and will continue to do so, here's why: the obvious discount on the room portion, the Diamond parking pass, the dscount card for shopping at DTD, and last but not least, Disneys central res. center is a nightmare to deal with. We've booked a single night room only for our arrival day, and they have consistently screwed it up. I am a huge Disney fan, but their res. dept. needs a huge overhaul.

You don't have to use a local agent. You can use ones that are not even in your state if you want.
