Booking a package or not?

thanks orangetiggs....

just the same as booking with TA? deposit then balance 12weeks prior?

8 weeks, we have booked next years already be our third time with complete orlando

So we've been to wdw over 15 times and every time we've gone by booking a package - and almost every time we've booked through virgin holidays. We never hire a car, so transfers to the hotel would be necessary. And we will always want to stay in a disney resort. I'm just wondering (as so many of you seem to do it this way) whether it would work out better to book hotel and flights separate. I think we'd prefer to still fly with virgin. Is it common to book the hotel directly through the walt disney world website? Is this common and easy to do for English holiday makers? Would airport transfers be included? I appreciate any tips/advice in advance.

That didn't take long ;)

..trawling for DIY help.... we've always booked package deals but for next year quotes are way too expensive; soooo..... can we book flights with deposit only or is full payment required with all bookings?? and same for villa?? any recommendations for companies/sites etc? :thumbsup2

I had placed a deposit with virgin holidays for July 2014. After pricing DIY all deprecates I found it 4000pounds cheaper. Virgin holidays admitted they couldn't match it and said it is usual to be able to do it cheaper DIY. The problem is insurance, she quoted the ash cloud situation- which I'm happy to take the risk with.

So I booked prem Econ going out and upper class return on Virgin Atlantic for the 4 of us at 5200 pounds. The called Disney US direct and booked 16 days at grand Floridian for just over 10,000 dollars which is a great rate when taking into account the exchange rate.

I had to pay for the flights in full and a deposit to Disney but don't have an issue with that personally.

Luckily kept hold of my deposit with virgin holidays and have just booked Xmas in New York 2014 for us using the deposit.

you an still get insurance to cover your diy package you need one with consequential losses
