booking a package....family

HI i am new to this section of the message area..but i have some questions

we are a family of four, ME, DH, 2 dd's ages 14 and 6 when we go to WDW.
i have been planning on booking the gold plan or silver plan to my ressie......but as i look at the items included i am rather bummed......all the great tours, BUT there a catch...yup- age restrictions. so in order to take full advantge of the package deal ( getting the msot out our wishes) we would have to put both kids in the daycare center and DH & I would have to do the big tour ( 199.00pps one) by ourselves.....i am a little urked.most of the stuff included in those packages are geared towards grown ups? or am i looking at it wrong? my 6 y.o cant parasail, or golf most of the stuff on there., is that why they included the daycare? forgive me but is it not rather dumb to pay thousands of $$ to take my kids to WDW and then stick them in daycare? i wont be doing that! ~ i guess now i will investiagte the prince / princess plan but i am having hard time understanding why they gear those packages to groups that do not have small children..when familys of small children go to WDW?

I've priced various plans over the years for myself and others...only to come to the firm conclusion that most people are better off just getting a room with a discount and not purchasing a package...just too much wasted money...
