Booking a Disney Room

Ok I am probably the only one completely confused by the process of booking a Disney room on the Disneyland website but I got some questions. We are traveling with 4 adults and 3 children, we have gotten a room at PPH before, two queen beds and a sleeper sofa. The kids are 9, 5, and the other will be 2 at the time of travel. It says online the only room big enough for all of us are suites. But the 2 year old will sleep with my SO and I, the 5 yo can sleep on a sofa sleeper, and the 9 year old will sleep either with his parents or with my 5 yo. Do I need to speak with someone on the phone or through their websites online chat, or online do I just change the amount of people staying in the room?

I believe the Fire Marshal is strict about room occupancy.
The standard rooms of Disney hotels are rated for 5 people and no more. Regardless of where each person will sleep.
The larger suite rooms vary, you'll have to read the description for each.

For a party of seven you'll need two standard rooms or a suite.
Looking at your signature area it appears you'll be a DLR the end of Feb. I looked at PPH for room rates and this is what I found.

Maximum legal occupancy of a standard room is 5 people. It is a fire code thing not a comfort thing so you will not get an exemption if you register more then 5 people.

We stayed at PPH mid-Dec with 4 adults and 2 kids. We got two standard connecting rooms since that was cheaper than getting a suite. We LOVED it! There was so much room to move around and it was nice when we wanted to put the kids to bed early in one room and stay up chatting in the other one. Even if it was allowed, there's no way we would have survived if we tried to stuff all 6 of us in one room!
