Just wanted to know if anyone has booked a cruise using AAA. Is there any savings by doing this?

We booked through AAA. We got an onboard credit for booking with them. Otherwise, DCL does not allow them to discount.

True! I second this. No discount, but you get some savings (like on CC rentals) and you do get an onboard credit.

I as well booked through Disney then moved to AAA for my trip in october for a better OBC. But no real benfits like there use to be at Disneyland with unlimted fastpass.

Same here. We racked up a lot of OBC booking our rooms first with DCL and then transferring the reservation to AAA. We also got a couple nice gifts from AAA. I think one was a DCL photo album.

If you book with AAA during the month of January (their Disney month) They have extra special offers on top of the OBC.

4 cruises booked thru AAA. Directly booked the first with AAA, and then rebooked while onboard, and Disney transferred then to AAA each time.

This way we get the Disney rebooking discount, and on-board credits, and then get also get another on-board credit from AAA.

I did not find a discount at any website. Some advertised lower prices, but when I looked closely their prices were the same as Disney would have been without the trip insurance and ground transfers they add by default.

I also booked online at the Disney website then transferred my reservation to AAA. That way I had the control over the reservation details, such as choosing the stateroom I wanted, but I get the onboard credit the travel agent provides. My travel agent will have to book my romantic escape package for Aug 2009 when it becomes available late this year, I will have to give her my credit card for the full payment, and I think the packet will be shipped to her instead of me - which I like more than having it sit on the porch all afternoon. Other than those items, it is the same for me as if I did not use an agent.

I personally had a bad experience booking with our local AAA in 2006. My agent was not up on anything and had no idea my cruise was actually canceled and changed to a 15 night specialty cruise. I found out about the changes here on the DIS and had to tell HER about it. I was very disappointed and will not be using AAA again.

Hey! I booked with AAA and wasn't told about any onboard credit! Am I missing out on something? Maybe it will show up when we board? Or should I call my TA?

Any thoughts? Is OBC always standard with AAA? :confused3

When is your cruise? AAA announced OBCs up to $150 for this year, but has yet to announce what the cost will be next year. I moved my reservation to AAA anticipating they will continue the OBC at this level or better next year, but it is a gamble.

Talk to your TA and ask him or her to fill you in.

I called AAA today and was told that I did not have an onboard credit than the TA called me back to tell me that I do have an OBC of $150. That was great news. Apparently, AAA does not give the OBC or discounts it's up to DCL.

It is standard with AAA... but it is given through DCL.

I work for AAA and didn't even know that I had an OBC. So, had I booked someone else... I would have had no idea. It said nothing on the entire booking, confirmation or any peice of paper from Disney! When my final docs arrived, the last page was a sheet that told me about the OBC as well as a few other discounts since I booked through AAA. :confused3 I was super surprised but very happy!!!!!!!!!!! I called to confirm and it was true. The amount depends on the catagory as well. So, you can actually call DCL yourself, even if you booked with a TA, and ask if there is an OBC.

Good luck! :wizard:

Wow! YOU ARE RIGHT!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I just went through my final documents with a fine tooth comb, and there it is. It's kind of in the "small print" stuff that I had glossed over before! I wonder why the TA didn't mention it? Now here I was wondering if they didn't offer that unless you were waffling on your reservation! :rotfl:

I am so happy!

Thanks everyone for bringing this to my attention!

 Hi Misslissa! Can't wait until next Saturday!
