Booking a cash room

I won't have enough points (after banking, borrowing and OTU points) for a Feb 2018 stay. How do I book a cash room? By calling member services? I went online and you can't reserve anything past Dec 31, 2017.

There's nothing online for cash past December 31. They will book a "tentative" rate reservation and adjust it later when 2018 rates come out.

I was told by MS today that they should be called if you want to stay in a Villa. She said that a DVC CM cannot book a hotel room. For all normal rooms, call the regular Disney number or check online. Of course that person may have gotten multiple things wrong.
