I'm a Triple A member but have never booked a WDW resort through them. Do you go to them, either on the phone or via the web, or can you call CRO and get the rate there? Are the cancellation policies the same as through CRO? It's not unusual for me to book a resort through CRO, cancel that when a code comes out, add days, cancel days, etc. Will I have this flexibility with the AAA code process?

Thanks,
Bill From PA

Well Bill I called AAA to book a trip and that was last thursday- spoke with someone at length gave her all our specifics. She said she would call me back...well I'm still waiting. I ended up booking through Dreams unlimited because they were faster. But you can just call disney directly and book with your AAA discount. Book early because those sell out quickly. My understanding is that if a code becomes available it can be applied on top of your AAA discount(10%) That is why I used DU because they keep checking for the codes.

I just booked a AAA rate for room only through Disney for May. You can't book the AAA rate online through Disney but you can when you call. If you are looking to book a AAA package then you have to go through AAA - I believe you can do that online.

I also would not book directly through AAA..had the same problem as the above poster..they didnt seem to care to get my business or not.

You can book a room only right on their site or you can call CRO which we did and have them book it. I believe the cancellation was about the same (5 or 6 days)

A travel agent can easily obtain a AAA room rate if it is available. As other posters have mentioned, you can also call CRO to request a AAA rate. No need to go through AAA to receive the room only discount.

I've always booked the AAA discount, resort only, directly with Disney over the phone. As far as I know, the same cancellation policy holds as normal rack rate. :)

I recently booked a room-only using AAA discount. The policy is: One night's rate as a deposit, the rest due at check-in (or check-out, as I recall).

The cancellation policy is SIX days in advance. In other words, they want 5 full days between when you cancel and when your arrival date was.

If a code then comes out later that would give you a better deal, call CRO and have them apply the code instead of the AAA rate. You can't use both together, but they will use whichever one gives you the better rate.

Hope this helps. :)

what is cro?
I went through the aaa agent and I thought my rate of 2400.00 was kind of high but then there are six of us. but it is only for three nights four days. at the cornado

I'd be careful about the CRO and AAA discounts. I was told there was no savings using AAA rate for our visit in June by CRO cast member... Booked, then called AAA MidAtlantic and got the same package for $222 less using the AAA discount. Needless to say, we cancelled the CRO reservation and rebooked using AAA. If codes come out, we'll go through AAA and redo this process...lol you can always cancel your reservation up to 45 days in advance with no penalty at either!

I would always double check the rate through AAA before finalizing anything.

Good luck!

That's because you were doing a package. You can't book a AAA package unless you do it through AAA. You can use AAA direct from Disney or other travel agents for a "room-only" discount.

I booked my trip last weekend through AAA, we met with our agent a couple times and talked on the phone to get everything just the way we wanted it, we ended up getting our vacation for $200 less than what was on the Disney website and through other travel agencies, as well as $25 DD at check in...all we had to do was pay $200 deposit and then the rest is due 45 days before we leave, we also had to pay for our airfare upfront, but that's because it's not through Disney...

I think AAA was very easy to use and my agent was very knowledgable and friendly.

I just booked a package through AAA earlier this week (via phone) and I feel that I got a great deal! I was able to get quotes on the two resorts I was most intersted in (POLY and CR) and I chose the Poly. My total included taxes and trip insurance was $2829. That included a garden view room for 4 nights, 10 day no-exp MYW passes and the dining option for me, DH, and 2 DSs (3 & 5) for 4 days. I have 14 days to put down a $200 deposit (which is fully refundable) and the balance is due within 45 days of departure. I can't remember what the cancellation time frame was but I don't believe that it was unreasonable.

We also got $25 Disney dollars for booking before the end of January (sorry that promo is done.) But there are other perks such as special parking at the parks and the AAA lounge in the MK.

If I did my math correctly, the room rate came out to be about $70 less per night than the Disney website. I can live with that :)

We just booked a 7 night stay with the new dining plan and MYW tickets through AAA, and they were very responsive and handled everything very well. We got sick of waiting for April codes, and AAA is the only thing available right now for any sort of discounts.

Prior to calling AAA, we tried all the usual travel agents, as well as Disney CRO to book this reservation and there was no way any of them could give us the AAA discount combined with the dining package. (We are Disney regulars--twice a year for the past 12 years, so we are pretty familiar with the process).

AAA is less flexible than Disney regarding cancellations, but even Disney gets less flexible when you book a package instead of just a room. Anyway, very happy with the way that we were treated by AAA, and in all our dealings with Disney CRO over the years, we have never seen them as confused about packages, rates, and combinations as they have been since January.

I too booked a AAA package this week. It is for 8 nights with MYW tickets in Aug. at WL and I checked Disney's website and got a quote from Dreams Unlimited. AAA's price was over $300 less and my agent from AAA has been wonderful! We've never booked with them before, but so far - I'm impressed! We too got the 25 Disney dollars and a free autograph book and tote bag.

I've booked twice through AAA agent, she has returned my calls, and emails very quickly. It's the only time I book a trip through a trav. agent. They saved me $158 from CRO. Maybe I lucked out and got an exceptional agent that cares, and is really appreciative that I went back to her this year. You don't have to book through the AAA office nearest you, I actually used an agent in SC where my friend lives, and I have my AAA here in Jersey, she said it doesn't matter. If anyone is interested in the office and agent I use, let me know I'll give you the info., she's fantastic.

I booked a trip for August through AAA and saved $546.00 from what I was quoted from CRO. I also had a GREAT TA and will use her again.

Just changed plans, now 5nts/6dys, 2ppl., Poly. with park hopper tix, $2251, a $198 difference from CRO. AAA is doing pretty good by me.

I also booked a package for August in CBR through AAA, we save just over $200 and we have $25 Disney Dollars waiting for us when we check in. The office I used also had their own DD promotion which gave me an additional $45 that I get to pickup when I get the docs after final payment. So they saved us $200 on the package rate plus we get a total of $70 Disney Dollars free to use when we get there  Of course this left my wife thinking about what she could get at Disney for $70 as a free souvenir.
