Booking 2 Rooms & Proximity Requests

I am thinking that booking both a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom would work out better for my 2010 vacation than booking a Grand Villa as I will be travelling with my DH, DS,DD, DM and putting my mother and the 2 kids into the 2 bedroom.
My only concern is proximity of the two rooms. If I request two rooms together or atleast on the same floor is that request usually honored. I will be booking at SSR and would hate to be put in two different sections. I know that requests are just that and not guaranteed but do they try to honor those type of requests?

I would love to hear anyones experience with booking two rooms.

Thank you

I have done it several times.

The only time it wasn't honored I actually added the second room the week before so I couldn't complain LOL!

We once had 3 - 2 bedrooms for a week. All were right together (this was at BWV). I do think the resorts do their best to keep groups together.

each time we booked two rooms we have always been on the same floor of the same section. never different sections. they will tell you they cannot garauntee they will be near each other but they will make notes in the ressie about the request.

Unfortunately, I can't say we've had luck like the others have posted. :sad2:

We have taken several trips with my BIL/SIL, who are also DVC members. Of the last 4 trips, we were only placed near each other once. It was at OKW, and we were located 1 floor below them.

This past spring when we stayed at SSR, and MS messed up on our reservation. headache: We had linked a few nights together, and MS didn't carry the handicapped request over to the first night. So, our room for the week was not HC accessible. They didn't have a HC room available, etiher. Because of their error, the manager at SSR placed us in 2 2-BRs right across the hall from each other. Had MS NOT made the mistake, we wouldn't have even been in the same section, much less building (we ended up in the Springs)!

If you do reserve, I would just make sure that whoever stays in that second room is self sufficient, and doesn't mind being separated from you.

Unfortunately, we did not have the pixie dust this last week either. DH and I ended up in different section than our DD and her family even though we had our reservations linked due to special needs of our grandkids. We were all moved from Carousel area to Congress park but because the computer kept showing rooms that were clean and available but actually were not, it took us nearly 6 hours to get this transaction completed. DD,DSIL and GKs went to MK for FGM to perform her magic. We were extremely happy with Congress Park and would request to stay there again.
