Hey All, Usually we only book 1 room at a time. This time we need to book 2x 2 bedroom units because we are a larger group. My booking window opens May 2 (a Sunday) and I believe I can only book 1 at a time online. Is that correct? Also, when do reservations open? Midnight the day of, or 8am? Would it be fasters to call MS? Its a difficult category to get, so wanting to know our best options.

DVC online reservations roll to the next booking day at 8 am eastern. MS doesn't open until 9 am eastern.

You can only book one room at a time (MS has the same restriction). To make the initial booking process quicker, just put the lead guest on each reservation. Once both are booked, you can modify the reservation to add the remaining guests.

It is faster to do it online as if you are not quick to call MS the second they open you will be on hold for an hour. Just book one and then the other. To speed it up, only add one person to the first reservation and then modify it later.

Could someone use two browser tabs or log in on two computers/browsers under two accounts (such as separate accounts for each spouse on the contract) and start booking two rooms on the same DVC contracts at the same time right at 8am?

Nah, that's the hold if you're quick. The hold if you're not is horrifyingly longer.

FWIW, MS can only book one at a time as well. Their only advantage is being able to see how many are available when they start.

You could maybe ‘walk’ one reservation - if you’re okay with walking?? Book one the day before you want it to start. Book the second on the actual day, and then go back and modify the first for the days you want. 🤷‍♀️

This is what I do when I need two rooms. I book the first one a day earlier and then the next day, book the 2nd one foe the real dates,

I then modify the first one to the real dates. The other thing for hard to get rooms is to not waste time entering all names. Just enter the lead guesrs for each room, and book it.

Once you have it, you can go back and modify to add everyone.

This sounds like a good plan....but what if the next day, the last day of the first reservation i want is not available? I.E. I book Sat to Sat and then try to change to Sunday to Sunday, but the last Sunday is taken?

another question. I have Feb and August UY's for the same resort. I currently have half the points I need, and the rest will come this Aug and Next Feb (2022). Reservation is for April 2022. So the reservation is for after all those points become available. My concern is that online booking will treat is as "borrowed" points and limit me to 50%. I need all of those points to book!

When you book right at 11 months once you get the trip booked for at least 2 nights, you can move it forward and won’t lose the room.

For example, you book Room 1. It’s Room A. You have that room locked up for 7 nights. No one else can book that room until you check out. That is why moving it one day works.

Now, if booking at 7 months it is riskier because an owner can book that night ahead of you because they have priority.

But not an issue when booking at 11 months!

Awesome! Thanks Sandi!

First, your points are already there for booking. It’s based on when the trip is and not when you try to book.

An April 2022 trip is in your Feb 2022 UY and your Aug 2021 UY.

So, you can book your home resort next month at the 11 month window. The points eligible for booking the nights in your Feb UY are banked 2021, 2022, and borrowed 50% of 2023 points.

The nights you book in the Aug UY can use banked 2020, 2021, and borrow up to 50% of your 2022.

All goes by which UY your trip falls!

Same here...had to do this for December reservation at CCV...no chance I could have gotten both rooms without a small walk.

Thanks Again Sandi! That's what I thought but just wanted to be sure! Wish me luck!

Well....it sort of worked, and it sort of didn't...lol. I logged on 8am Sat and tried to book a 2 bedroom, Concierge level AKL, for April 1-8, 2022. All nights were available except for the 1st. Because I was booking on the 1st, I could not pick the 2 to 8th. So I waitlisted it. Then I went back and checked on Sunday as the real dates I wanted were April 2, to 9th, 2022. I could book a 1 bedroom, but not a 2 bedroom, so I booked one, but had to use my 2022 points as it would let me use my 2021 points? This was weird, so I decided to wait until 9am when MS opened to get this straight. As it turns out, I could not use 244 point of my 2020/2021 point allocation as they had to be used by Jan 2022. (Feb UY), but because I am "International", I could have MS fill out a special form to allow us to use these point up to May of 2022. But this takes 30 to 60 days. Long and short of it was I had to borrow points from 2023 and I was able to book 2 x 1 bedrooms, and waitlist 2 x Studio (large family vacation). I was told once my 244 comes through I could call MS and they will basically return my borrowed point to that UY. Hopefully it all comes though and hopefully our waitlists come through! It was so stressful, but I had an awesome cast member who made it easier! Hopefully we get blessed with some pixie dust so we are all at Concierge!

What? Please tell me more because I am "international" :rotfl:as well.

You can ask for banked points due to expire can be extended if you are someone who has not be able to travel due to travel restrictions.

You have to call and they will put in a request to have them extended until May 2022.

I got so excited, didn't read well enough and misunderstood. I thought maybe there was something about sidestepping the new borrowing rule. Drat!

Thanks Sandi.
