Booking 1 day at a time

Has anybody ever booked a resort 1 day at a time, day by day? I was wondering if I should do that for Aulani but my concern is then that when I'm done I want all the days linked together into ONE reservation so we don't have to risk having to MOVE units. I don't know what the odds are that at check-in they would attempt to keep us in the same unit. I mean, if the studio is part of a larger unit then they MIGHT move us to make room for the other party, right? In my mind it seems that if I book like this online then at the end I would have to call MS and they would then have to cancel each day and rebook them into 1 reservation...and that during this transition process it's possible that someone else COULD come along & grab one of the days while it's in limbo and then I would lose it. Is that right?

Assume you are referring to the process known here as "walking" a reservation. One books the first 7 nights and then the following day(s) calls MS to add nights to the reservation and cancel the beginning nights that you really don't want. Cancelling or adding individual nights of an existing reservation can only be done by calling MS. One cannot cancel a portion of a reservation online. Only MS can modify an existing reservation.

Even if all you are doing is adding nights, you cannot do it to an existing reservation online. To book more nights online, you have to wait for the booking window to open.

The "walking" process is of little or no value if you are booking at 7 months. If any of your days are already booked, everything you do up to that points is worthless.

It is only useful at 11 months and only necessary for a very few villas types for the most popular dates.

No, not really talking about walking. Never mind. I only had like 4 hours of sleep last night. I thought for some reason that if I am eligible to book through Aug. 8 now (today) that I could go online & book Aug. 7 & 8 now then add the 9th tomorrow etc... But I can't 'cuz it's a different resort so I have to wait for Jan. 7th.
