I have booked the Hard Rock Hotel for 7 nights for febuary next year in half term,:cool1: :cool1: DD really wanted to do universal/ IOA, we have not done them before, so we booked a universal hotel instead no plans to do Disney.:scared1: Plenty of shopping though:) Hope there is plenty for a 7y/o to do though there is always the pool i guess.

It's still Orlando, how can you go wrong?
I bet you all have a fabulous time.

Lovely news, and a whole year to look forward to it - lucky you!
No Disney eh? Don't matter one hoot, they'll be more times. Go and enjoy US/IOA.
DH can't wait till our girls get a bit older to do more US.....

I was going to ask you to let me know what its like at HRH as we want to stay in July 09 for 3 nights before moving over to Disney, but I'll already be booked by the time you go! Have a fantastic time.

OMG I am SOOOOO jealous!!

We loved loved loved IOA, US, and CW - and really want to stay at the HRH as well! Does your son know much about Dr Seuss? If he doesn't it might be a good idea to get some of the books or watch the films before you go so he can appreciate Seuss Landing.

yes, she knows about Dr Suess books from schools, she is looking forward to meeting Cat in the Hat. I am so excited to be staying at the HRH, it sounds fab.
I was a bit worried DD won't enjoy the theme parks as they seems less for her then at Disney however there is sure to be some things that she likes and it will be nice to have a more relaxing time and more time for shopping and Sea World as at Disney we don't have much time for non Disney things.

Sorry, I meant daughter!

I'm sure she will love SeaWorld and there will definately be parts of US and IOA that she will like too there are kids areas in both and obviously there is the non-disney character aspects (shrek etc).

you will both love the Hard Rock Hotel the pool area is amazing.

There are loads of characters at the Universal parks as well. ET is good perhaps rent the ET dvd before you go.

HRH is a fantastic Hotel, we have stayed there 3 or 4 times, several on the club level which was brilliant. The pool is amazing, it even has an underwater sound system. If you go to the parks you can use your room key for the universal express which gets you to the front of the line.

Brillant news:thumbsup2

HRH is one of the few hotels in Florida that DH gets excited about. Now if they could just move it onto Disney property perhaps I could get him to Florida more often:thumbsup2

That's great news! I'm tempted to do a couple of nights there next time we go to Florida.
