Well, it's my turn to be part of the "booked". I just booked a 1 bedroom villa at Grand Villas for $81/night. I know it's a bit more then hotelkingdom.com but i didn't like the fact that I had to pay everything NOW. (not sure about their cancellation policies either!).

with them, I can cancel 48 hours before my arrival, which is awesome (if ever something major happens). I will also look for more deals (if I can find somethign better!).

Pretty excited!

glad you found something that you liked at a reasonable cost.

some people have complainted about Hotel Kingdom telling them they had a room and finding out they didn't...

so you are probably better off during it your way.

Yes,Please tell us what website you booked on?? I'd also be interested to know!!
Thanks,Debbie

Oh Sorry ladies!

I booked through Sunterra 1-800-424-1943 (found the number at www.cypress-pointe.com ) LOVE the virtual tour on that site too :-)

You have to understand that I bargained.... She gave me 40% off the listed price. Started off at 185/night for a 2 bedroom, got 140/night fairly quickly... then, after pushing a bit for a better discount, she put me on hold and came back with 40% discount... with brought it at 111$/night for a 2 bedroom...one bedroom started at 135/nihgt, dropped to 99/night ended up with 81/night (40% discount).

Hope this helps!

Chantal,Hope you don't mind me asking but did they require a deposit or just a credit card?
I don't know how you got them to lower their price but good job girl!!
You got a fantastic deal!
Debbie

When you usually ask, they can get you something cheaper... and I was lucky enough to get it! hehe

Yes, she took one night as a deposit and I can cancel 48hrs before arrival.

The 1 bedroom unit is NOT the studio - don't confuse them. The 1 bedroom unit is very similar to the 2 bedroom but is smaller (500 sq ft compared to 1100 or so).

The one bedroom is most likely the lock off unit. When we stayed in a 3 bedroom there, one bedroom is separate and has a small living area & kitchen. The kitchen had a 2 burner stove. From the floorplans, it looks like that is the 1-bedroom.

I have no idea what a studio is. In the picture it looks just like the 1-bedroom, but with different fabrics. And I guess the living room part is missing. There is another website that says they just have 1,2 or 3 bedrooms. http://cypresspointe2.com

Gillian- Do you remember if the 1 bedroom has a door to seperate the bedroom from the sleeper sofa in the living room? Also, is there a door to the bathroom? Thanks

From the pics (www.cypress-pointe.com), there seems to be a door from the 1 bedroom to the kitchen/living room. ALso, when you look on the floor plan, there's a door to the washroom but the bath & shower is out in the open (no doors). Look at the virtual tours on the site I just wrote...it'll give you a good idea.

Chanty...it looks like the link you posted is for the Grande Villas section. Did you book your 1 bdrm at the GV or the regular CP?

**Sorry, just looked back at the original post and see that you're at the GV! My bad! :earboy2:

chanty,

In the l br, the bath and sink/vanity area are in the open. There is a door to the small shower and a door to the toilet area. (tiny).

herc.

See I saw the door for the toilet...but wasn't sure if there's an actual door to the shower. Looked more like the door of the shower stall...if you understand what i mean. Anyways, it's not an issue for us since it's our honeymoon hahaha

It's a great room for a couple! We stayed with family and they gave us that room so we could have more privacy (& quiet!). Having our own kitchen was really nice, especially in the morning. And it kept our neice & nephew from eating our food. :)

If you had more adults, it could get awkward.

There is a door between the LR & BR. There is also a large window in the wall between them, with a shade on the bedroom side. The LR/kitchen area does not have any outside walls. The balcony is off the bedroom.

Also, you have to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom.

Glad to hear...is the balcony like the others (2 & 3 bedroom villas) or is it smaller??
