Booked with a group - can we still get cruiser credit?

Has anyone gotten the first-time cruiser credit when they have been booked with a group? I asked the TA about it, she said she didn't think so since we were getting a group discount - but she didn't actually call DCL and check.

Does anyone else have experience with this?

A group discount is just that, for traveling w/ a group. Some travel agents consider a group being 8 cabins or more. I would think you should still be eligible for a first time cruiser credit. We are a small grp of 16 and got the $50. first time cruise credit for each of our 5 cabins. Cruise411 also takes xtra 7%-10% off all cruises. Good luck!

We have a group ,10 cabins (min. of 8 cabins to qualify) going on the Western Magic, 9/13/03. All of us are first time cruisers. We booked through Disney and with a "group" you receive a $100 discount per cabin, plus some other amenities. Disney told us that because of this discount we could NOT get the "First Time Cruisers" discount in addtion to the group discount. I can only go by what Disney told us, but if anyone has any different information, please let me know!

As I understand it, if you have already recieved a discount from Disney itself (not TA) then you do not qualify for another. If you got the $100. discount from Disney for booking with this group, then you have the better deal already. If it's a "group" just to the TA but less than 8 cabins and no discount came from Disney, then maybe you'll get both. Good luck.
