I've got a question concerning using a BB offer vs the new AP rate. DD21 was in wdw in May and got BB offer in room. We decided to go for it and book the Wilderness Lodge(first time ever here and deluxe!) using the 40% off disc for
our Dec 11th trip! We're very excited! Now the AP rates are out and for the first time she has an AP! So, looks like the rate is also 40% off. I'm wondering if there's any reason why it would be a bad idea to switch to the AP rate(assuming availability, of course) or any reasons why it would be a good idea? I'm sort of afraid of trying to switch though I'm not sure why. We have a WL courtyard rm booked(that's only category available when we booked, or even allowed with the BB offer). We added the DP so we also had to add one ticket each to our reservation. Obviously she doesn't need this ticket so we can save it and I'll just upgrade mine to days needed. I think if we switched to AP rate we wouldn't have to buy two tickets, well, one ticket we don't need so we'd save the cost of one ticket, about $88. Or I could buy no tickets with it and buy my tickets totally seperately, which I think means its a ticketless pkg with dining. So, just wondering if I should just leave things as is or try to book something new with the AP at the WL, either with courtyard view or a lesser view to bring down price a bit more.

Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions on this to help me decide? Thanks very much! :goodvibes

The only rooms I found available at WL with the AP discount were courtyard BB rooms. Never heard of having to add tickets to buy the DP...usually that goes with free dining :confused3. Price them each out, and go from there...you'll be able see what you want to use. Good luck!

Yes, I would say switch to the AP rate. If it's the same type room and same price... then with AP rate you can add on the dining plan without having to buy tickets.
If you only need one ticket anyway... then why pay for the one you don't need. Just do the AP rate with dining and then buy the ticket you do need when you get there.
make sure the AP rate is available for ALL nights of your stay. It shoudl show up when you plug it in online the rate of the room for each night.

just saying... because we're going after Tgiving into first week of december... and saw one rate for most nights at WL, but the one night we do want there, just doing one night there... is NOT discounted.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. Haven't had time to call, hope to later today maybe. :)

We were in the same position a couple months ago.. I had booked a trip late Sept, early Oct. with a bounceback offer and the AP rates came out. I called and got a really helpful CM who priced it all out for me. We ended up having our 11 night stay broken up into 2 different reservations, first 5 nights with the AP rate and the second 6 with the original bounceback. Same room, but two different reservation numbers. So, my suggestion would be to call and see if you can get someone helpful to price it out for you.

Well, I guess it depends on whether you want dining or not. With the AP discount, you can add on dining without buying a package - with the BB, it is a package with all the payment and cancellation restrictions of any package. You will save a little by not having to purchase any tickets - but the tickets never seem to go to waste.

I had a BB booked, but it only covered part of my dates. The AP rate covers them all, so instead of a five day trip, I now have a 10 day trip. So for me, it was definitely worth it. But if your dates aren't changing, it's probably better to leave your reservation alone. The more they mess with it, the more chances for something to go wrong . . .
