So as a follow up to my previous post - I'm totally with you. We are putting OUR daughter in the kids club on Sunday night, and we are heading to Yachtsman's same as you. After dinner, we are heading over to Jellyrolls - our favorite "adults only" venue since Pleasure Island is closed - from about 8 PM to 10 PM. let us know if you want us to save you a seat!
I clearly missed this during my last post--skier_pete, PLEASE save us seats! We LOVE Jellyrolls!
So a thing happened that is neither good or bad-- or rather it is both. My husband's old high school set an alumni recognition ceremony for the 25th Anniversary of his undefeated football team. He was a starter all four years and played college ball too (Div III). He is super proud of this and to be honest, no one cares nowadays and he knows that

So he was basically heartbroken--I mean actually depressed--to learn that his high school scheduled this--on the last night of our vacation. They told him about this all three weeks before we were scheduled to fly out. I meant to update here but I got super busy with my new job--I'd already reluctantly turned down a wedding invitation for the Saturday we got back, but he took it seriously hard.
Well, you don't join DVC because you just want to go to WDW all the time. You also frequently join because you love your family, you love to be with them and spend happy, memory packed fun days together. WDW is a prime place to do it.
But some things even trump one extra night at WDW. So I called him up at work about three days after we found this out and said determinedly "change your flight to get in a day early. Just tell me how much it ends up costing." He was in hopeful disbelief. He knows how much I love these trips. He asked if I was SURE I wouldn't be disappointed and I told him honestly I can never tell how I'll feel about something till we do it, but I imagined that his happiness would outweigh my disappointment. He also said "I really want you guys to be there. It would kind of be stupid for me to go alone...." I insisted, and told him I'd look into changing our flights too. He changed the flight, it was $200. So he & the baby were heading home a day early, and they'd drive pell-mell to his old high school (3 hrs away). While on the phone with him, I discovered in disbelief that because I booked my flight with points, there was no change fee. None. So my ticket and the two girls tickets were free to change.
Done.
Was I disappointed? Turns out, I have never been so happy to cut away a night at WDW. We now have enough points (in holding, mind you, so we HAVE to use them) to add a weekend getaway any time before August 2016. Plus, I get to see my husband, super proud, on his old high school field, honored for something super important to him--and our kids get to see it too. I think he's going to explode with joy and pride. AND THE ICING ON THE CAKE: We're driving FROM the game to my friend's wedding in Washington DC, and staying with a dear cousin. So instead of the post Disney blues, I'll have two joyous events to look forward to while we board the Tragical Express! And sure, flying to Cleveland, then driving three hours near Columbus, and then driving the next day to Washington DC will be a lot, but what a fantastic adventure!!!!
There were two catches though: our Anna & Elsa fast passes were for the cancelled Friday afternoon, and late Friday AM was our son's first haircut appointment at the Harmony Barbershop. They have no other appointments the whole week, so we'll be relying on a walk in. He really needs a haircut, and his sisters had theirs in WDW... there is no excuse not to

I don't think the girls will really notice if we miss A&E anyway. They are super excited about "Mickey Treats" (rice crispy treats in the shape of mickey's head). It's all they talk about.
Got our APs this weekend. Bought Gift Cards, consolidated the balances, paid for the tickets. We got $15 in free gas per $500 gift card, plus the miles. So that is like a 3% discount, sort of--and the miles will be handy since we need to use those 31 points this use year
PhotoPass is taken care of too, cannot WAIT to get some adorable shots of the kiddos on their birthday.
Popped our grocery list in to WeGoShop today. Not sure if anyone cares but this is what a "light" trip looks like for us--when we went with my parents, oy! Keep in mind, we already have a few half bottles (rum and vodka) for cocktails in our owners locker, plus some pesto and pasta sauce, so don't think we're drying out or anything.
