Some might remember my asking about going to Vegas for our 20th anniversary in November. I asked for opinions and thought I decided on the Bellagio. I actually had an agent book it but then changed my mind today and went with the Venetian. The suites there look very nice, expecially compared to the Bellagio rooms. Will I regret the change? The Venetian is most definitely the more expensive of the two but that really doesn't always mean better. Anyone been to the Venetian?

We had a PenthouseSuite at the Bellagio that was bigger than our house (website says they are 1500-2000 sq ft) It was AMAZING esp when the fountains came on. The His & Hers bathrooms were fantastic too. They made us feel like celebrities there. Never stayed at the Venetian but let us know.

I've stayed at the Venetian several times. It's very nice. I'm sure you will have a great time. Be sure to tell them that you are celebrating an anniversary. Maybe they will put you in a newer room or an upgraded room.

I was actually just pricing the Venetian. My friends stayed there once when Iw as in town at the same time. The suite was great. I love the sunken living room. And the bathroom is huge.

I priced it out and sent it to my BF and he said he wasn't sure if he wanted to do Vegas or Disney more. So, I think I may actually push for Disney. ;)

But the Venetian is great. I love the Spa there and there's tons of shops. You won't be dissapointed.

DH and I honeymooned at the Bellagio, and had a fountain side suite and the whole experience was really amazing! I have fond memories, and would probably lean towards the Bellagio if I were to ever go back with my DH.

I am trying to plan an upcoming trip with a girlfriend, and we are looking at the Venetian. I think you can't go wrong with these two. :cloud9: Congrats!!!!

Dh and I stayed at the Venetian a few years ago and it was wonderful! The lobby was breathtaking and our room was gorgeous (I especially loved the jacuzzi tub and glass shower).

We stayed at the Bellagio last year and absolutely loved it! I can't believe the Venetian is more expensive--it's usually the other way around. We did visit the Venetian though at it's very nice, but IMO the Bellagio wins hands down. I found the Venetian to be a little bit tacky, but that's just my taste.

I too thought the Bellagio was higher but it is far from it. A standard room at the Bellagio is $299. At the Venetian it is $600. I haven't seen either hotel in person so I guess I will take my chances. I figure we might make this a yearly deal going to Vegas as I love to gamble. If I don't like the Venetian this trip there is always next year! LOL!

I never stayed at The Venetian but we spent a half a day in there. It is beautiful, and the wax museum was also very interesting.

Holy cow! I guess my $99 room at the Venetian was a steal! You must be going during peak times. Honestly, I've never paid more than $149 there. I wonder why it's so expensive?

As for the Bellagio - I like it too. We had a room on a higher floor overlooking the fountains and I must say, it doesn't much better than that - for a standard room and view, that is. Very romantic. Although the room is not a suite like it is at the Venetian, it is still a very nice, luxurious room. I also like the casino. And, of all the buffets in buffetland (Vegas) that I've tried, I thought the Bellagio was the best.

As for the best standard hotel room that I've stayed in in Vegas - THE Hotel at Mandalay Bay was my favorite. It is also a suite. I would highly recommend it except that the location is not the best.

I hope you have fun at the Venetian when you go. I think you'll be in awe. I just wish they had rooms like that at WDW. ;)

LOVE the Venitian. We stayed there and just walked through the Bellagio and I've heard good things about it, but I love an theme and the Venician goes all out on the theme--we rode the gondolas, walked the Venice streets with music, and ate dinner in the open square. Beautiful. Love the rooms, too. The living room is sunken, which has the bedroom raised--pretty cool. IT is a little gawdy, but that goes with the theme (and Vegas, if you ask me). ;) You'll have a great time. Bellagio doesn't have as much to offer.

The Venetion is a favorite of ours! I just today got an e-mail for $149 room. It must be booked by Aug 1. I can not see any code listed, try going to their web site. Have fun!

I stayed in a Bella Suite for $149/night a few days before Christmas 2004 and I loved it! The room was large, the beds were super comfortable and they offered a free shoe-shining service.

I didn't like that I had to walk into the main building, take an elevator to the bridge, walk across said bridge, through another lobby, then another elevator to room. It just seemed like too much work. Its not too bad though, it is such a beautiful hotel at a great deal.

I love the Bellagio, but they never have great deals. So I have only walked through. :sad2:

My new dream is to stay at the Wynn, I walked through last December and was so impressed, now thats a gorgeous hotel.

You're finding a better rate at the Bellagio? We haven't been to Las Vegas for a year, but last time I was there, it was the Bellagio that had the highest rate. That's interesting.

I'm not sure I'd stay at the Venetian if the Bellagio was cheaper....don't know, they are both great, you can't really make a mistake.

Oops, I see someone else already said this -- but it's true, a year and a half ago, the Bellagio was much higher.

You know, I bet I know what it is -- that's probably just all that's left at the Venetian. Maybe the cheaper rooms are booked to a group or something ( maybe a business meeting or something.)

If you haven't already asked, find out, and seriously, if you find a cheaper room at the Bellagio, I'd take it.

That said, our favorite is the Four Seasons -- we had a suite facing the strip and it was one of my favorite hotel experiences of all time -- I too want to try the Wynn, though.

Rooms at Venetian do not regularly go for $600. You will see them from $149 to the $300's, depending on when you are going. Weekends are always more than mid-week. There must be a big convention going on when you're there for the rate to be $600. That is certainly not the norm. To be honest, I think I'd probably go with Bellagio to save $300 a night. Of course, you know what's best for you and your husband.

You will have a great time, I'm sure. The Venetian is lovely. I haven't stayed there, but we've been there several times. We stayed at Bellagio last year and it is beautiful, but your room at the Venetian will be larger than a standard room at Bellagio. I am going with girlfriends on Labor Day. We have the Bellagio Suite (1,050 square feet) booked for $299. Can't wait.

Have fun!

$600 a night for the Venetian? When on earth are you going?

I've stayed at the Venetian before as well--it is really gorgeous. I've never been to the Bellagio, so I can't comment there--however, I've heard great things about it. You might want to check and see what you can reserve at the Bellagio for less than $600, more than $200--you might be able to get a mega-suite!

I'm getting the basic standard room at the Venetian. It isn't even in the new Venezia tower which is higher in cost. I have no idea why it's more. My agent said that it is a much nicer hotel then the Bellagio so we will see. I really don't know why I'm so concerned with the hotel. I never sleep while gambling! LOL!

I need to clear something up! LOL~ When I priced standard rooms at both resorts for my stay I got the Venetian at a much higher cost. The agent got it down A LOT! It was still higher then the Bellagio but not by much. Maybe $500 for the entire 5 nights. So I am not and will never pay $600 for a room that I plan to gamble most of the time! LOL! Thanks for all your help and opinions. I'm really looking forward to my first Vegas trip!
